This museum has a ton of things to do for kids. The environment is great for little ones to pre teens. We took our just under two year old and she really liked it. I'd recommend if you're in town with kids

There is so much to do here for children! Lots of "dramatic play" areas, building with multiple types of materials, art, exploration, engineering, outdoor play...We spent about five hours here during an upper-Midwestern road trip. It was a great way to spend the day and it actually encouraged us to stay in Brookings overnight. The price seems so reasonable, especially... More

We are from Maryland just out side of Washington, DC and stop here once a year when we come out to brookings to visit family. We have a six year old girl and have visited a handful of Children Museums out on the east cost and none compare to the one in brookings, SD. Hands down one of the best... More

My 4 year old had a ball playing here - there were so many hands-on things to try, and ways to use imaginations. She especially loved the rooms where she got to pretend to be a cashier and shopper at a grocery store, and a server at a restaurant, etc. My 15 y/o didn't find a lot of it particularly... More

Very nice children's museum. We probably could have spent all day there. Some favorites were the grocery store and auto mechanic shop. He was scared of the animatronic dinasours though (he's only two).

Visited the Children's Museum on 19 JUN 2016 with wife, son and his family. Was very impressed with the number and quality of exhibits. Many were hands-on. Regret that we could not spend more time there as we had another commitment. I think this museum is every bit as good as museums for children in larger cities.
