As you drive back to the stumphouse tunnel, you pass a turnoff to the right that will take you to the Issaqueena Falls. You can read about the legend of the falls as you leave the parking area and head over a small wooden bridge...More

This waterfall may have had the easiest access of all the five waterfalls we visited during the day. The head of the trail to the falls is just off the parking area, and were at the falls in no time. Looking up to the falls,...More

The falls are a short walk from the tunnel. It’s worth the walk. The falls are beautiful and mesmerizing. It has a little stream leading to the falls that you have to cross a bridge but then it opens up into the falls.

This was our first stop on our trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Short walk in and nice falls. Also a tunnel right down the road. Lots of History with signage to read. Glad we took the detour.

This "hike" is just a few yards from the parking area to the viewing platform. But it's a good view. The challenge that is well worth the effort is to go down the very steep path to the bottom of the falls. It goes over...More

About an hour and 30 from Greenville, it is close enough to have a day visit. It opens at 10am. There are several views , from the top, halfway down, and a fairly easy climb to the bottom. Parking can be tight but there are...More
