This is the second time we have brought friends from out of town. It was a completely different experience. The first time was a Saturday and there was a large crowd. We still had a great experience. However, I did not realize how much fun it was on a weekday. This time of year not a big crowd and we... More

Stopped here after a visit to the nearby tea plantation. Lots of kinds of liqueurs, flavored vodka, moonshine and rum. Our bartender during the tasting mixed all kinds of delicious concoctions using the different flavors and all of them were great. Good thing they gave us recipe cards as there were so many she suggested, know I won't remember half... More

We sought this place out as part of our day trip back home. This place is the real deal. Very authentic. We did a vodka tasting and bought some as well. Has a nice gift shop too. A must for the bucket list has been checked off.

We had a great day on Johns Island! Thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting and cheese platter, Wines were on the sweet side. Next door is the distillery. We each picked different choices and it is very difficult to pick a favorite. We loved the Firefly Southern Lemonade Vodka and the Caramel Moonshine, but trust me, it's all delicious. Plan to... Friends shared their Pecan Whiskey with us and we've been in love ever since. Stopped in today for a tasting and ended up walking out with two other kinds of whiskey. We're hooked! Only wish they could ship the hard stuff though.

We stopped down here on recommendations before heading into Charleston for the weekend and couldn't have been happier we did. You'll see the "Wine before shine" sign as you approach, and while I didn't feel the wines were bad, they weren't particularly great either (separate business). You can stop over there and try them, or just skip straight to the... More

Firefly Distillery is a beautiful drive through James Island, SC. Tasting was $6.00 to taste 6 liquors - hard to decide as it is a long and flavorful list. Our tasting bar was very crowded with a birthday group but the bar tender was fun and informative on how to mix different flavors and recipies using the different brews. Bottles... More

Stopped by here on a road trip and it was so kitschy-cool and accommodating to my family with small children. Wanda was SUPER nice and gave my kids popcorn while my husband and I sipped moonshine samples. The grounds are beautiful and have lots of things to occupy kids- swings, farm animals (including a very affectionate cow named Ida!) it... More

We decided to head over and check out the firefly plantation with some friends on a quick getaway to Charleston. It's a quick trip from Charleston and worth it. We first checked out the winery which was ok but then went over to the liquor and moonshine distillery. That was a blast. If you get there and Wanda is working,... More
