We took both of our little girls 18 month and almost 5 year old to the park for their discount Friday afternoon special. First impression everyone there looks miserable. The special started at 3pm not even 3mins early we had to wait. My wife swam down the kiddie slide with the little one immediately was whistled asked to leave pool because she was too tall for the slide. This was the theme for the entire afternoon. Parents would attempt to help their small children to the slides and were whistled down. Kids climb on the floating snake or dragon wrong or jump off splash too big whistled down. We got out of our floats in the lazy river early walked around the corner to the exit... you guessed it the life guard came running whistling not allowed in the lazy river without being properly in a float. There's a fine line between keeping things orderly and flat out being rude it's almost as if the staff wore it as a badge of honor. Take a day trip to Camp Lejune boot camp and you can receive the same treatment just less whistles and a lot cheaper. The place could use a serious makeover very least a fresh coat of paint. It has all the signs of a business trying to hang on or by their employees attitudes maybe they are trying to run it in the ground squeeze the last bit out of it sell the land for condos. We are locals and attended Myrtle Waves water park also owned by local celebrity Mark Lazarus and his family things were a lot less strict and free we had such a better time there. The kids behaved well and had a blast but I personally won't go back to Wild Water.

We went to wild water and wheels last year during our vacation and it was without question the most disgusting, filthy place I have ever been to. Immediately as we got out of the car there was broken glass and trash in the parking lot. As soon as you walk into the very first door to go into the waterpark you can see the walls and ceiling are moldy, rotten and smelled like eggs, not to mention the cigarette trashcan was stinking right beside the door. From there the day kind of made a turn around for an hour or so. We had fun with the kids and adults alike until I took my son to the bathrooms beside the wavey pool. The bathrooms floors were covered in a film of urine and looked like they had not been cleaned at all in a very long time, so we walked to back of the bathroom to a stall, so we wouldnt have to stand in pee and, lo and behold there was feces all over the walls and floor. I was disgusted. I took a picture just to show how disgusting this was. There was no way i would let my family use that filth so we went to the other bathrooms in the cafeteria building. No better there. All of the toilets were covered in pee, toilet paper scattered on the floor, and feces in the showers. I decided it was time to leave this place. As I walked back to meet with the family and noticed something on the ground. A trail of blood from someones nose. Nobody came to clean it or keep customers away from this blood that was all over the ground. We packed all of our bags and got the kids dried off and changed and still nobody had come to clean the blood. on our way out of the waterpark we stopped at the first aid shack and told the general manager kevin how the bathrooms were and how the blood all over the ground is a hazard to everyone, he was rude and dismissive and pretty much acted like he didn't care and we were wrong about everything we told him. We come to myrtle beach every year but will never be back to this water park again.

We had family members from age 8 to 50 and all had a great time! There are plenty of covered lounge chairs for those who want to relax, a gentle river for those who want mild excitement, a wave pool for those who want to go from calm toe dipping to big surf riding (this was our favorite!), and all kinds of slides for the really adventurous.
We used a locker for our items, were able to find food options for all (a little expensive - typical amusement park prices), and found the staff very helpful (my daughter needed a band aid for a scratch on her toe!).
Financial Tips: If you want to save money - you can bring lunch and eat it at the picnic area adjacent to the park. It is also not necessary to pay for a private cabana - there are plenty of covered areas and the lockers are nearby for valuables (I wouldn't have wanted to leave them in the cabana even if we did get one - it is just an open tent).
Location: there are lockers by the wave pool and bathrooms and even a hidden covered lounge area back behind it. I would make this area your main base (get there early if you want covered lounges in front of the wave pool).
There are also cheaper rates if you come towards the end of the day.
I didn't want to come but my daughter begged. I wasn't planning to get in but was coaxed into the wave pool, river, and several slides - so fun! We will definitely come back next year.

This place needs a major renovation. The bathrooms all smelled, food was awful and it was way too crowded. Just plain DIRTY! Thank goodness we had free passes from our resort. We stayed an hour and left...

So a bit skeptical with so many varying reviews but decided to try them out...it ended up being the highlight of our trip (basing it on feedback from out three kids 18-16-&7) Had plenty of activities and everything seemed organized and clean...we did go on a Wed...so amount of people was just about right and never experienced delays to try a slide or activity...food was great with diversity in menu at reasonable price...

Let me start by saying that I have been coming to this waterpark for 10 years. It's not cheap, and is always crowded. Let's just say in 10 years they have not put any of the income into improvements.....looks exactly the same as 10 years ago, and needs some upgrading.
As I arrived yesterday, I watched in shock yesterday as the manager threatened to kick out an autistic young adult if he ever came back to the park. I don't know what the kid did, but the manager berated the mom who tried to defend her son. I almost stepped in but decided it wasn't my business. Those of us who saw the whole think just shook our heads in disbelief at this guy's ignorance. Let's just say the manager showed no sensitivity at all to this poor mom dealing with a disabled kid trying to have fun at the water park. The guy acted like he was the owner of a 5 star resort and the kids couldn't be there. Wow.....I thought to myself, this place is really stuck somewhere in the 80s!!!

I know that Myrtle Beach isn't the most sophisticated place in the world, but I thought there was more awareness about disabilities everywhere nowadays. It obviously hasn't made it to this waterpark, whose policies, like the facilities, needs some serious updating.

All of that said, ignore the management and the crowds/ tattoos, you can still have fun on the slides, which is the only reason you'd go there anyway. It's exactly what you'd expect, nothing more.
For a better experience, go to Myrtle Waves, much more for your money! You can tell that they do put some of their revenues into maintenance and innovation.

I would not waste yohr time at this water park. We had tickets that were included with our hotel stay nearby. We would surely not advise anyone to pay full price for the tickets. It was dirty. There was mold and green slime in many locations. Kids were ready to go after an hour. It is the smallest water park I have ever been to. Dumpy.

We went to this waterpark in June 2011 with 2 kids ages 3 and 7. The park was clean, the lifeguards were attentive!

My 3 year old loved the kids area with slides. The slides had a pad at the end so the little ones did not have a "drop" off from the slide so they were able to remain "upright."

There was also a "tunnel" that had waterfalls inside of it which my 7 year old loved, BUT it seemed a little unsafe as there is not lifeguard posted.

We tried the wave pool and it was ok but the current was not as strong as other wavepools we have experienced so the ride was kinda boring.

The lines to get on the slides was very reasonable compared to most other waterparks, which was the best part about this park. There are 21 water slides which helps to keep the kids from being bored.

Another great feature to this park was the seating that was available-seemed that you could find a place to put your stuff and relax in the lounge chairs.

Although we did not try the rides or Go-karts, or mini golf, it was nice to have that available and make a day of it.

Overall, we will return for another trip as it has plenty to do for all age groups.

HANDS DOWN BEST WATER PARK IN THE COUNTY!!!
I've been going there for at least 20 years, if not more. It isn't as crowded as the other parks, and it doesn't have that rubber stuff on the ground that burns the heck out of your feet either. Friendly staff, amazing rides, and they even have a COLD JACUZZI!!!!! it is the best thing ever!!

Now sure what happened to this place. My family used to come here all the time a few years ago, and we thought we would return during our recent trip.
We made the trip from Myrtle Beach to Surfside on a beautiful morning to arrive at Wild Water and Wheels, hoping for a great day at the water park. When we arrived, the parking lot was full of angry folk who had also driven to the park, only to find that they were closed due to the weather. It was a beautiful day. There was not employee on site. Around noon, there was a post on their Facebook page notifying everyone that the park would be closed for the day, but that they would be open tomorrow.
So, we gave them the benefit of the doubt and went to find something else to do with the gorgeous weather day. The next day, we returned to Wild Water. We called before we left the hotel, and could not speak with a human. The message said nothing about being closed. However, the Facebook page still said they would be open. Again, we arrived to join an angry crowd in the parking lot. This time, there were cars at the office, but they ignored our doorbell rings and phone calls.
No business who treats its customers with such disrespect and who does care to communicate with their patrons will not be in business long. My family won't be fooled again.
