The Surfside Beach Pier currently is not much of a pier due to damage from a recent hurricane. The ice cream shop and gift shop are closed, but the excellent Surf Diner was in operation. There is a barricade that prevents you from going out very far, but you still can get a good view up and down the beach, particularly when eating on the outside tables at the Surf Diner. There are steps from the pier to the beach. As we were leaving, we read that the pier was scheduled for renovations in late 2020.

Love Surfside. It’s the quite side of Myrtle Beach. You feel more like a resident then a visitor. Unwinding is a marvelous thing.

Surfside Beach is open and looking good. Not crowded and they are following the new normal. The Pier is closed not sure what is going on. But the beach is open and looking good. Pay parking and a restroom.
