This diverse paved trail garden is best described as a preserve. It truly preserves the local habitat while displaying some other garden gems from around the world. It has been free but just went through some major upgrades to the entrance area. I've never seen...More

Wife and I visit many gardens when we travel. This is one of the best small town gardens we have visited. Before going there, I wondered whether it would be worth it in the fall, i.e. past prime summertime display. So we didn't get there...More

A very nice asset for Spartanburg, a little oasis of calm and quiet near the city. The gardens have many nice shaded areas to sit on benches and just admire the garden or even just listen to the babbling brook that winds through the garden...More

What a wonderful place to visit to just unwind. The colors are beautiful this time of year. It is an oasis in the middle of town. Have purchased several plants to add to my yard.

These are some of the most beautiful gardens that you can see anywhere in the area. They also sell plants there and unless there has been a recent change they have a sale every year.

Learned about Hatcher garden from a Spartanburg events newsletter. Finally got to see it last weekend, it's only 10 acres not really large, but it's free and so beautiful and shady. The day we went was hot, in the 90's, but it was easily 10...More

This a real hometown treasure. The garden is an outdoor sanctuary. I have had many wonderful memories sharing this outdoor area with out of town guests. Bring a picnic and just enjoy nature. There is no charge.

This is a wonderful place to come and sit and listen to the birds, walk in the woods, and enjoy nature. I love to see the many flowers and plants that are native to the area as well as hear all the birds.

The Hatchers took land that was neglected and had fallen into disrepair, and turned it into an outdoor sanctuary, not only honoring the vegetation, but those who have loved this place for generations. Special stones dot the accessible pathways commerorating loved ones. It is a...More

Hatcher Garden has activities all the time. I would suggest going to their website to find out what's going on. I think they have a spring plant sale coming up soon.
