It was drought season the ponds were low, greened over and the plants weren't anything spectacular. No maintanence in the trails.

This is one of my favorite places but the visit now is not so good. The lack of rain has had an effect on the beauty of this place. Just about no blooming flowers. However, it is still a good walking area and a place for family and couples. We had some pictures taken and believe they will still look... More

The gardens has grown and developed since my last visit in 2014. The garden is a lovely place for a walk, a romantic lunch or a peaceful end escape. Short pathway to walk. Great place for peace and time with nature.

Hatcher Gardens is one of my favorite places to when I feel I need to relax and take a good deep breath of fresh air. It's in the city not far from town, shopping and an interstate. It's very serene.

Hatcher Gardens is a real gem. We visit there often especially during change of season. There is always plenty to see of the Spartanburg nature and birds that frequent the gardens

Expecting more the reviews were good, it's is not much different than your standard park with a walking trail. Many plants were dead or in bad shape, few markers that told you what kind of plants or flowers you were looking at. Some of the ponds looked ideal for mosquitos.

I took my HS Junior to Hatcher for spring flower pics in her prom dress. Such beautiful, shaded backgrounds of many flora types. We are blessed to have such a beautiful, tranquil garden so near to us.

This place was a nice little surprise in the middle of Spartanburg. We were in Greenville and took the short trip over. It is free and has lots of shade to meander around the walkways. Relaxing and glad we stopped. This place is run on donations so don't forget to drop a donation big or small in the donation box!

Hatcher Garden is loaded with a huge variety of plans and trees, with meandering paths to wander down, and many places where you can stop and sit to enjoy the atmosphere. Very easy to get to. So nicely laid out that it is used as a wedding venue and other events. With the recent graduations and proms, I saw many... More
