The tour was very well done with two gentlemen who were very familiar with the Flora and Fauna in the area. We actually saw a alligator harvested on the first day of an alligator hunt and saw the animal. Quite spectacular. The facilities are wonderful clean and a lovely store to go with campers and Cabin Renters. The launch facility... More

A man made recreational preserve that contains 7 lakes, campgrounds, cabins, fishing, pedal boats, row boats, a general store and more. We came to the park to see the ducks. Fortunately the general store sells duck food to help attract the ducks. This allows you to see the ducks up close and personal. I wanted to see the Wood Ducks,... More

Though all but one trail was closed due to hurricane Matthew damage, we had a great week of camping. Bathhouses are located in accessible places throughout the camp grounds and are serviced frequently. Camp ground is pet friendly, and I was glad to see many of us traveling with pets. There are plenty of hookup sites for trailer camping as... More

Site was clean, restrooms needed attention, no soap or drying devices in restroom, personnel was great. A little out dated for a popular park. Note. Work was being done to redo one campground.

This state park is fantastic. The people who work there are very friendly and helpful. There are two campgrounds, but one is currently under construction over the winter months. There was some damage from Hurricane Matthew, but the park is slowly getting back to normal. You will need to check if trails are reopened if you want to go on... More

We spent Thanksgiving here in 3 cabins with a mixed family group of all ages. The weekend was pleasant enough but there were some issues the park needs to address if it is to remain popular with visitors. We stayed in the lakeside cabins which are built out on piers over the water. Our cabin had a kitchen light that... More

We were on our way to North Carolina and decided to stop half way. The park was clean and quiet. The staff were friendly and made sure we were situated on our site. All was good but I did not think it was worth the price.

I stayed in a 2 bedroom, smaller cabin, #2, from Oct 31-Nov 5. As per my prior visits, the staff is excellent--friendly and informative. The lake is excellent for fishing and there were people fishing when I visited (I don't); however, I wouldn't dare swim in there due to alligators. (They warn you of it on their pamphlet, but I...
