Really creepy and historical. I took my nieces here at night and drove down "The Most Haunted Road in SC". This chapel is really creepy and historical and encapsulates the rich history on Port Royal Sound. I don't really believe in the super-natural but it is still worth a trip to see.

This place is at first glance a southern ruin but what you actually have is a witness to American history. This place saw the American revolution, the Civil War, and Reconstruction. It’s tabby walls, built by people not always treated well by this country, still survive and thrive, as do the descendants of the builders - many of whom still live in the area. It’s moss draped oaks are the picture of southern beauty. Definitely worth a stop.

Very cool ruins, we all enjoyed taking a walk back in time. It was a quick stop, probably 20 minutes altogether but interesting. Definitely echo those who recommended bug spray - even with the Deep Woods Off the gnats were everywhere. Worth a stop.

Historic ruins of a church from the 1700s. It was really neat to see the oyster shells used to build the walls. Combined with the limestone used, the church still has a white glow. The property is very small but is close to other important civil rights landmarks so worth making the stop.

I love these old ruins. You still get a feel for the history, the character, and the charm. Maybe the building is no longer whole, but it's not yet gone either. It still has stories to share with those willing to stop by for a few minutes.

A very pleasant surprise coming up from "Land's End." As you can see from the photos, it is a very solemn place. Once there, you can simply sit down and consider the history here. The headstones were all memorable and quite sad. Still, it's a place to visit and enjoy.

Just a stop of the road-easy to drive by but well worth the stop. Hauntingly beautiful ruins with remains of cemetery. Spanish moss everywhere to add to the charm. Could take tones of pictures of this place

Wandering around the back roads a bit to find the burial site of author Pat Conroy and came upon these ruins. With the spanish moss and the little cemetery it is quite picturesque and certainly worth a stop if such things are of interest to you.

We found this last year after leaving the Water Festival. Such a beautiful spot to come across. It was kept up decently well and had a few informative plaques. The kids enjoyed seeing it too.
