Great place to walk along the catawba River. It felt safe. There were families, dog walkers, leisure bicyclist, joggers and others. It’s a few miles long and backs up to homes in some areas. There were deer in a few wooded places and also in a meadow. The entrance has shops, restaurants and an amphitheater. I imagine when covid ends, it will be even more enjoyable.

The woods and the river views were marvelous, especially as the sun was rising. A few decent hills keep the run interesting from a cardio standpoint, though nothing is particularly difficult about this route. And with the high temperatures forecasted to reached nearly 100, I’m glad I started early!

It's a nice paved trail. We typically walk the 4.5 mile loop. Just enough hills to be a nice workout. Plus you just never know what you're going to see. We've seen deer a number of times feeding within 50' of the trail.

I have lived here long enough to see this Riverwalk area really grow. The nice part of that is we now have a decent paved walking and biking trail along the river.

The not so nice part is that it is one of the Only decent walking/biking trails in Rock Hill. The area around it has exploded with new housing. That means this trail is always crowded.

Expect a decent walk. Do NOT expect a serene hike through the woods.

Glad it is here but wish it wasn't so crowded.

Beautiful trail along the Catawba River. Lots of nature: trees, plants, deer, birds, turtles, squirrels and a snake or two! Walkers, runners, bike riding, mountain biking, strollers and dogs! Very friendly people.

Such a great trail and now it connects through to River Park! This is a long enough trail for biking out and back. Wish it connected via a loop. Perhaps someday...until then, enjoy watching the kayakers on the Catawba River, plenty of area for the kids to access the water too.

Piedmont Medical Center is a recent addition to the RiverWalk neighborhood of Rock Hill, SC. It is a wide, paved trail that runs along the banks of the Catawba River and joins RiverWalk to River Park. The trail is on the outskirts of the rapidly growing RiverWalk development which includes a velodrome and a BMX bike track (that hosted the BMX World Championships in July 2017). The trail head starts within walking distance of the unique Pump House restaurant, housed in an old pump station for an industrial complex that is no longer there. The trail has frequent access points to the river which is visible for most of your walk. For bikers, there is an access point to a network of mountain bike trails that are rated from easy to challenging. The trail is a great place to run, walk with the family or pet, mountain bike, or just take in nature.

We live in the Riverwalk area and walk this trail regularly. The trail along the Catawba River has recently been connected with the River Park trail so now there are 3.35 miles of scenic trails to enjoy. The river is in view for most of the walk and deer and other wildlife are easily sited. It is also dog friendly, with doggie waste bags and receptacles along the route. After your workout there is a great wine bar and a new restaurant (Pump House) that is at the beginning of the trail. Great family fun!

A wonderful trail, recently extended so total length is a between 4 and 4.5 miles one way. Trail parallels the Catawba River. You can start at either end, the West end begins at Riverwalk where the Grapevine offers coffee in the morning and wine and craft beers afternoons and evenings. The Rock Hill Pump House restaurant is also there offering brunch on Sundays and lunch and dinner.

The trail is mostly flat with some hills. You can put in/take out kayaks at either end of the trail. There are also mountain bike trails ranging from beginner to advanced that can be accessed directly off the paved trail.

I walk the River Walk 2 times a week. The week days are less crowded then the weekends. The walk is paved with hills. I walk the entire walk and average over 6 miles and 25 flights of stairs on my Fitbit. The river is gorgeous. You will see all types of wildlife and enjoy beautiful scenery. This trail is wheelchair, bike, and skate friendly. Have FUN!
