Excellent museum! Why? Because this museum is not BORING for children through teens. Activities for younger children to have a tactile connection with the past(hands on) approach. Creative events annually that provide an understanding of art/culture/history with partners such as the Catawba River Art Guild and other artists from Winthrop University!

I have visited this museum a number of times with my 3 year old grandson. He loves to look at all the animals. The people working there are very personable and will answer any questions that you might have. Great place to take young children.

My nine year old granddaughter and I visited the museum and thoroughly enjoyed the dinosaur exhibit as well as the movie shown in the planetarium. The whole exhibit was very well done. She especially enjoyed hang gliding along the track that demonstrated whether flying dinos flew from trees or took off from the ground. Great place to visit for young... More

As a retired science teacher, I am always on the lookout for natural history and science related museums. For a fairly small museum, York County's Natural History museum in Rock Hill is impressive. The knowledgeable and friendly staff get visitors greeted and on their way to the exhibits. All the exhibits are professionally displayed, The research and hands on exhibit... More
