The drive up to the farm was very pleasant being surrounded by such beautiful scenery. With it being in the mountain area, there were many places to stop on the way to the farm. As I arrived at the location, I was immediately greeted by the sweet, old dog they have working on the land, which I soon learned her name was Jasmine, relating to their favorite tea. One of the first things they offered was a taste of the tea they grow and produce there on the farm. I’ve had a lot of tea in my life, and this one made the lists of bests.
To begin the tour, I was given the opportunity to walk the farm, or ride alongside in the multi-seated gold cart. The first stop of the experience was at their Camellia Sinensus bush that boarder their whole house. It may look like any regular bush that people have outside their homes, but this one is a tea tree! The tour started at the tea tree and covered the whole farm. It included the greenhouse stop, their workshop, gift area, and the farm itself that hosted many more Camellia Sinensus trees. Near the end of the tour, we stopped in the workshop where she showed us exactly how they produce their tea from the tea leaves. This, too, is where I had the opportunity to purchase any of their teas, tinctures, or goodies they make at their facility.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable, as she has been in the business for over seven years. There were many amazing things and much to learn about this experience and what goes into the production of tea. Although the tour was informative and new, there were traits that may hinder someone from ever trying something like this. For starters, if you’re not one that enjoys driving in the mountains, you may just want to stay home. The roads leading up to the farm are tremendously curvy and wind around multiple times. I myself didn’t get carsick, but I could see that being a slight issue for someone else. Along with that, the tour itself is outside majority of the time. Make sure the tour is scheduled on a decent day where it’s not too hot or rainy. There is also a good amount of walking and standing, so someone who is not physically able may be a hinderance to that person. However, there is an option to ride in the golf cart if the amount of walking may be an issue, so I would still try to give the experience a chance. The best part about all this is that the tour is free!

Stopped in on Sunday afternoon for a tour, as avid gardener I learned SO much more about growing and harvesting tea! Also: Jenn’s engaging storytelling about the company’s beginnings; aromatic factory tour; beautiful grounds and camp (!) and oh did I mention the free cup of tea?
Headed home with reasonably priced haul of tea for ourselves and some for Christmas gifts.
And a tea plant for the yard.
This is our new favorite place to “stop in” on Sunday drive (and a safe outdoor place to entertain family visitors during covid.) Love it!

What a great pace for a day trip. They are very knowledgable about tea and I learned a lot about tea, it's propagation and processing.
We went as a group with the Green Thumbs Garden Club and it was especially informative to us. Since some of us are master gardeners, we asked some pretty technical questions and Jan was ready to answer.
The scenery is also breathtaking.
They even have a golf cart for those of us who are disabled.
Great way to spend a day!

I recently had the pleasure of touring Table Rock Tea Company in Pickens, S.C. with my Newcomers activity group. Jennifer, who owns the tea farm with her husband, was a delightful and enthusiastic guide who clearly loves what she does! This couple is creative and passionate. I highly recommend a stop here if you happen to be in the area. Jennifer gives free tours (T -TH 10 & 2, Sun 2).

My wife and I stopped by Table Rock Tea Company after spending a few days at Table Rock State Park. We thoroughly enjoyed touring the farm. Seeing the green house and tea processing factory was a unique experience. The story behind Lazarus’s field was truly incredible. Jennifer is a great tour guide with her knowledge and enthusiasm of the tea plant and it’s growing process . We also enjoyed meeting Steve, and learning the history behind the company. We both had a great time and appreciate Steve and Jennifer taking time out of their day to offer this free tour. Jennifer made sure we both got a glass of their great sweet tea. We made sure to purchase some before we left. Thanks again Jennifer and Steve for being excellent host.

I recently had the opportunity to tour the Table Rock Tea Company in Pickens, S.C. Our tour guide, Jennifer, and her husband, own the Tea Company. The tour was very informative and Jennifer was an engaging and delightful guide. I would highly recommend a tour. The views of Table Rock are wonderful as well. This is a small family owned business that needs your support to continue to thrive!

The tour is so excellent, I'm amazed that it's free! I thoroughly enjoyed the endless stream of fascinating information about tea in general and the Lorchs' farm in particular. Jennifer gives a close-up look at every aspect of how they raise and process the tea. She has a wealth of stories about how they began their tea company and their plans for its future.

I love tea and plants. This was the perfect place to spend a bit of time. We visited the Table Rock Tea Company as a stop on our anniversary trip through the Upstate. Jennifer and her husband are truly kind and wonderful people. She took us on a tour of the tea farm and shared her knowledge of the process of growing, harvesting, and making tea. Their life story is heart warming and inspiring. This is a very special part of Pickens, SC and is worth the visit! I know we will be back.

Our visit to the Table Rock Tea Company was enjoyable, educational, and very
interesting. Jennifer, our tour guide, was excellent. The welcoming hospitality and passion for their business shown by the owners Steve and Jennifer made our experience memorable from start to finish. We liked this visit more than our visit to the Charleston Tea Plantation. We plan to bring our out of state visitors here for a close by visit they will love. Steve and Jenifer have a great future building their business.
Their history is worth hearing. Learning how tea is made from start to finish was
informative and fun. The tea at the end was delicious, and we purchased some
to take home.
