You cannot beat the beach experience at Pawleys Island. No crowds, no commercialization of the island itself, and a great beach with waves where you can body surf.

There's not a great deal to see along this stretch of road, but there are several sites with informative road signs that give you an idea of who built houses on the island back before it was filled with vacation homes.

Not to crowded Beaches are wide at the Southern Tip. Nestled between the Great Atlantic Ocean and the Marsh Creeks. Great Fishing and has a Pier to enjoy as well. the sand is clean and inviting. A great place to experience serenity.
