Golf School operating year round at Pawleys Plantation, a Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course 30 minutes south of Myrtle Beach. 3-day schools, 1 and 2-day programs, private lessons, and 2-hour group clinics. For all skill levels. Parent/Child Programs also available. Stay & play on-site with our 'Best Ever Golf School' package or attend as a Commuter Student. Computerized video analysis and personal take-home video via CD or email. A GOLF Magazine "TOP 25 USA Golf Schools" since 1991.

Mel is a true professional in every sense. I have been golfing for several years with all of my mechanics off. From the beginning, Mel took the time to straighten my golf swing out to videoing everything I was taught including practice drills with irons, pitch shots, bunkers, putting etc.
It was a great experience with excellent coaching and feedback. I would highly recommend Mel Sole school of golfing to all levels.

My husband and I were Return Patrons to a Wonderful Golf School Experience!
We had been out of the sport for almost 2 years and wanted to begin with a fresh start and swing tune up prior to hitting the course. David was our instructor for a 3 day course and it was nothing short of absolutely terrific. Breakdown of posture, grip and the swing we brought back with us and the ability to do what is correct out of the gate. The full swing video each day is an eye opener that helps so much. A review of short course skills was well done. We were given the skills to work on to improve our games. The accommodations booked through Mel and Rosemary well comfortable and clean. We are excited to get out there and play and have vowed to return again. You get your BANG for your Buck with Mel and David!!

I attended the 3-day golf school taught by Mel Sole, and it was a fantastic experience! It was fun, informative, instructive, and an over-all enjoyable experience. Mel has a wonderful teaching style, and reinforces the good as he works on those areas that are weak. I never felt like the mediocre golfer I am, and came home feeling inspired and motivated to practice the drills he teaches and to improve my game. I highly encourage golfers at any level to take the time to attend this school. You won't be sorry!

Just finished a 3-day golf school with David at Mel Sole's. Great experience! The video analysis of my swing was so helpful and I could really see what I was doing wrong as well as what I was doing right. So appreciative of the suggestions for improvement to take my game to the next level. As a 60 some-year-old beginner with some bad habits, this school was extremely helpful. If you want to improve your game do it! It is so worth it!

We just spent 3 days at Mel Sole’s golf school and it was a great experience for my athletic experienced golfing husband and myself a true beginner. Dave was our instructor and he was patient, kind and encouraging to me and provided helpful tips to my husband. We also enjoyed our stay in the condo on Pawley’s Plantation. The course covered so many aspects of golf and it was great to have the video to see the improvement we all made. I would highly recommend this course to the beginners and to anyone who wants to improve their game.

David Olberding was patient and incredibly technical when it came to analyzing my swing and overall golf IQ. I definitely learned a ton and will practice the drills David taught over the three day program. My son was with me and also agrees that David was incredible. His 40 years of experience playing and teaching golf is worth the trip to SC.

Mel is very knowledgeable and insightful. If you listen carefully and practice what he offers your game will improve. Resist the temptation to return to your old habits and keep Mel in your head as you practice and play. You'll see positive results if you are open to the instruction and take it to the course and range. It's comforting to approach a shot believing you can pull it off; I still hit poor shots but unlike in the past, I now begin with the belief that I will hit a solid one.

Mel Sole Golf School is what you should do instead of lessons at the box stores. Wife and I both attended the 3 day course.
School reservations and on site accommodations were easy as Mel set up our visit for the school and playing lessons. On site accommodations were excellent, clean and within walking distance of the school. .The South Carolina area is pretty with lots to do. Our Instructor David was excellent. His first question on day one was what I had hoped would happen, and it was what are you here for and what aspect of your game would you like to make better. From then on It was video taping your swing mechanics and instruction in every aspect from pitching, chipping, full swing and putting in the way you understood what and how to correctly execute to become a better golfer. I suggest on course playing lessons as well with David. Not only will you gain some valuable experience but it is also fun. David answers questions and backs it up with show and tell teaching. I walked away with knowledge and understanding to practice
for much better and enjoyable golfing. You can too.

Mel Sole is an outstanding teacher and instructor. I completed his three-day school today. He quickly identified my major flaw (over the top swing) and provided several drills to help me correct it. He used video analysis and hands -on instruction to help me and the other students. He is very knowledgeable and patient. The facility at Pawley’s Plantation on Pawley Island is first-rate. He provided numerous tips and drills to help with overall swing, chipping, pitching, putting, and bunker play. An outstanding experience that, with a lot of practice, will help my game. Take his course, it’s awesome.

If you like "chicken wings" do not come to Mel's school! He is the expert on removing chicken wings from your stroke! After three days of hands on lessons, our strokes and form were significantly improved. Book in advance to have Mel as instructor for three days, and add on 18 hole options for afternoon play.
The accommodations and location were spot on. Mel customized instruction for each of us. The video lessons will be an excellent resource for after we return home.
PS Lots of local restaurants have chicken wings if you still want them.
