- Steve VCamillus, New York195 contributionsFun TimeJust a group of four guys out for the day. I thought the greens and tee boxes were in pretty good shape. The fairways and roughs were a little sparse. The refreshment cart was a lifesaver. The bar was good. We had a great time and even scored pretty well.Visited March 2024Traveled with friendsWritten March 25, 2024
- Steve P1 contributionVery much improved.Course in good shape. Greens are the best I've seen them in years. Staff is great. Golf course is in in much better shape than it has been in the past. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.Visited June 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten July 4, 2024
- Jordan H1 contributionNot too great experience with an employee. My friend and I played this course a few days ago. We played well and the course wasn’t bad for the price point. Good layout, decent greens, and okay fairways. Our poor experience comes from the starter before the first hole. My friend and I are women and are both on a college golf team. My handicap is a 4 and hers is a 5. When we started talking to the starter he made it very clear where the forward tees were (which are 4200 yds), which I thought was weird but moved on. We were waiting on the first tee and he drives to where we are, the gold tees (5800 yds which is where we usually play) and proceeded to point us towards the forward tees. He was very adamant that we should not be playing from ‘all the way back there’. Everyone else there was nice and those who actually watched us play had nothing but good things to say. Very disheartening to hear those things as a women in golf. If I was a women I may think twice before choosing here.Visited August 2024Traveled with friendsWritten August 3, 2024

Well-kept course good for players of all levels to enjoy. We played a foursome of two couples with widely varying handicaps (8 to 30) and the course provided the appropriate challenges for each of us. Do be aware that you cannot take a golf cart to the driving range, etc. Your bags are not loaded until shortly before you should be teeing off. Putting green right next to the first tee box so you can get some practice putts in while waiting for the group in front of you to tee off.

With so many options in Myrtle Beach I would strongly steer clear of Beachwood. The course double booked both front and back starting times resulting in a 6+ hour round. The inside bar staff were rude and incredibly slow. The marshall was not helpful and seemed annoyed when asked why the pace was slow and there was a 15 min wait on multiple tee boxes throughout. No food was available other than hot dogs. Save your frustrations and choose elsewhere.

This course is very convenient as it is in the middle of North Myrtle Beach right on 17. That is the good. My son and I went mid morning and were able to play by ourselves. However, this course get very busy very quickly and your your round is a very slow roll through all 18. They pack players in as much as possible. That's bad #1. The bad #2 was the conditioning. It was average but there were too many "swampy" areas in the fairway and it hadn't rained in days. Greens were average but not consistent. The bad #3 is a quality - price opinion. For what you got and the experience, Beachwood was way too expensive. There are several other locations for the same price with a much better quality course. They charge you a premium for convenience I am sure.

Review from August 28th, 2023. The course layout has potential, but the overall condition of the course was terrible. The greens were high and very slow. The tees were uneven and many had an overabundance of sand/seed on them. The bunkers also had much more sand than necessary. We played 18 holes and a twosome was allowed out in front of us at the turn (held us up probably a half hour). With the abundance of courses in the area, I won't be returning.

Very disappointed playing this course yesterday...The greens were terrible with so much wild grown in them and around the fringes. some fairways and tee boxes good, some not so good and hard as a rock....Played here a few years back and it was in good shape with some interesting holes...Today, I would not recommend it to anyone, you have better options. Sad to see a Myrtle Beach Course in this condition!

Course is flat and in good condition but pace of play is awful.
We are currently at more than an hour and a half for 5 holes and hoping to get 9 in before 3 hours.
Not fun. But they do have a beverage cart girl so you won’t go thirsty waiting

player friendly course. Nice wide open fairways. Greens a little bumpy 3 weeks after aeration. Course very wet after several days of rain and it rained on us while playing. Friendly staff inside and out. reasonably priced.

The staff was friendly and the course layout was fun. I have played this course off and on since the mid 80's and I still enjoy it. However the fairways are thin as are the greens-definitely not in the good shape I remember it. If the course cannot be improved I will not pay the price they are asking.

While there are more challenging courses in the area, the entire experience here was second-to-none. First impression - ample parking, courteous staff and convenient access to both the driving range and putting green on arrival. Course was in very good shape considering the dry conditions. Layout itself is not too difficult from the white tees, but the variety of holes is interesting and you definitely need to bring your short game with you. Despite being somewhat busy, I still managing to complete my round in under 4 hours. Looking forward to a return visit!

Course is in good shape, greens too. Greens do not break much.
Staff are excellent and work to make your visit a positive experience. Easy to book tee times.
Many improvements since last winter and they are continuing to do more. New trees may make some holes more challenging when they get established.
Will continue to come back here.
