Cherry Grove is the best beach in North Myrtle. Located at the North End bounded by the Intracoastal inlet to Ocean. Largely residential with some resort hotels. Not as crowded as other beaches further South.

Cherry Grove Beach is the best! Not so crowded. Not lined with huge hotels. It's more of a small town feel with locals out and about.

Very nice beach located in North Myrtle Beach. Even when it's crowded it's not obnoxiously crowded. Have places you can walk to for food and refreshments. I like when the tide is low and there are little pools on beach for the kids to play...More

Once or twice a year, we go during the fall and/or winter. We usually rent a condo right on the ocean. If you want a lot of choices, rent a year in advance. The off-season rates for rentals are much cheaper than during the spring...More

Cherry Grove Beach has white sand and lots of it! Some great restaurants and close to Calabash, NC, know for their fresh seafood and deep sea fishing. We had a wonderful vacation, hubby golfing every day, and I relaxed by the pool or under a...More

Cherry Grove is a slow paced nice town with a great IGA and good places to eat. There are lots of places to stay at Cherry Grove in both winter and summer.

Our trip was in the off season, Jan. 2019, so it was not crowded at all. We stayed in a condo at the pier that had a great ocean view. The area was pretty clean, much better than I thought it would be. Plenty of...More

Beautiful, serene beach. The beach is just as beautiful in thewinter as it is on the summer. In the winter you can take a walk along the beach all by yourself. Lovely.

Having visited many beaches,Cherry Grove is the ideal family beach! The beach is clean and even in the summer,it's not really crowded. Ultimately, I bought a condo overlooking the ocean and the Cherry Grove Pier. Also, there are beautiful marshlands with exotic wildlife. Love it here!

I live within 15 minutes of the beach, so I am here all the time, usually 2 or 3 days a week. Great place for shelling and fishing. Never crowded and always quiet and peaceful.

I don't personally know any owner. I would suggest you contact Elliott Realty or Grand Strand Rentals. Good Luck.

Rosin (or resin) potatoes -- any place still serve them? (4 Replies)
My husband and I are going to be in the MB area in May, and he's been waxing nostalgic about the potatoes he used to have in the Cherry Grove beach area or Murrell's Inlet area many years ago. Apparently the method is this: you take a vat of boiling resin (rosin, whatever) and you drop whole potatoes into it. When the float, they're done and you carefully fish them out. Promptly wrap them in several sheets of newspaper and twist the ends into "handles", slice them open, and pile them with...More

Traveling to Cherry Grove from Upstate Ny? (5 Replies)
Hello fellow travelers, I am going to be traveling from Upstate NY (Albany Area) to Cherry Grove beach in mid-July 2014. Is there a way to skip the horrific traffic jams of I-95? I also want to stop halfway so would there be any hotels along the route (I81) that are cheap and clean? Thank you, Isaac

Cherry Grove Beach - how is beach at high tide? (2 Replies)
I read a while back that at high tide, the beach is almost non-existent. Is this still the case? We'll be there over the July 4th long weekend.

No, the beach will still be there at high tide.
