Wonderful beach and so close to all the attractions in Myrtle Beach, SC. Nice small restaurants not the big chain ones.

This beach is much quieter than what you'll find at Myrtle Beach. Lots of great shell and shark tooth hunting.

We went after Labor Day but it was wonderful. No crowds and the people who live here are friendly and helpful. It was not crowded at all. Everything was clean. No blaring music or idiots hanging out. It was an absolute pleasure. Highly recommend.

The ocean water temperatures are great as well as many unheated pools are warm this time of year. The only problem was hurricane IAN!

We live in the area and continue to be impressed by Cherry Grove beach. The beach itself is wide with a gentle slope - perfect for walking and biking. The waves usually aren't too bad so you can wade out quite a ways without getting pounded. They don't have as many sea birds to watch but otherwise it's a great beach experience.

so we came to this beach while we were on vacation and we enjoyed it. But on the last day we brought a pop up “tent” the front had no cover and it was pretty see through. We were then told we weren’t allowed to have it up so beware of that one, even though we saw others with bigger contraptions. Also, there’s a million cigarettes butts in the sand, there should be no smoking on the beach.

If you want to enjoy the beach without all the hustle and bustle of the tourist traps then Cherry Grove is it!! But beware…everything closes very early so if you want to go out to dinner or even order pizza you must plan early because some places close as early as 7!!

We were staying at 1 of the club Wyndham properties here at North Myrtle Beach right on the beach. Access to the beach is very good with multiple points of access. The beach is not very wide so the water is close. I would highly recommend wearing water shoes because there are a lot of broken shells and debris. It would be easy to puncture a foot on a sharp edge.
The surf was a little rough when we were there, but the water was pleasantly warm. Even though the beach was crowded, everyone was polite and there was no very loud music. All in all, a very nice beach.

The beach itself is wide and level, but parking is problematic. Go early and avoid weekends if possible. There are a few places to get food and beverages and portable toilets.

The end of October. We like to park at the 17th street parking spot. It is always less crowded, plus there is a porta and also a shower to rinse off. Even when they do charge it is very inexpensive. Or try finding a spot on the farthest north end and check out the point. That is really nice and not crowded. We have lived here for a year and a half and LOVE IT.
Can you bike?

Roads pretty narrow!
I’m curious as to the crowds found at Cherry Grove Beach as we are planning on vacationing here in two weeks and are wondering if we will be able to social distance on the beach?

I would be concerned considering the cases of covid are rising daily due people not taking this serious. People are not wearing masks, not socially distancing in most retail stores. The beach being outdoors will be crowded since hotel occupancies are high and many tourists are here in full swing. Florida is taking the necessary precautions, South Carolina tourists are not. This is just my opinion from what I have observed over the last few months. People are out of work and on unemployment- so why not travel to the beach for a Vacation! Several surrounding states are now attributing covid cases to SC such as West Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey. Some of the aforementioned states are asking to self quarantine 14 days after you visit the Grand Strand. It is your life, your family, your choice to visit or not. Make the decision that suits you the best but if you get sick, the risks outweigh the benefits.

is it safe to swim near Cherry Grove point on the north end?
Thanks in advance!

Yes it is safe to swim. Please understand there are sharks and dolphins in the area so at your own risk. I would only go in up to your shoulders as there are rip currents. check the local beach statements for current conditions or local news 13 in the area. All in all this is a nice beach for family travel. Considering the Covid the beach is pretty busy

I used VRBO and found a fantastic 5 bedroom one street over from the ocean and the price was under 500 for the entire week. You could still see the ocean and was very close walking distance, Condo was big enough for 5 families with covered parking and swimming pool
Hi, is there a place where you can rent chairs maybe an umbrella for the beach. Thank You
