BEST PLACE EVER for guitar repair, guitar knowledge, or sales (lessons too)! Super friendly and knowledgeable. Tricky repair job was perfect and reasonably priced. This guy knows his guitars!

There are few people I trust to work on my 1966 Martin 00-18 but Zan did a wonderful job of repairing it. He also was able to bring the action down on another of my guitars, it's tricky to get it al low as I like it without getting string buzz but Zan got it exactly right and it plays beautifully, (Two other repair people had tried and failed.) I'm really amazed and pleased to find someone this good in Myrtle Beach. He also has a nice selection of guitars for sale and if I ever needed to buy another one, this is the first place I'd look. Thanks Zan! - Cindy Lowe

Brought in one of my Les Pauls to get it set up and check out the shop. I had emailed in earlier in the week and got a quote which was much cheaper than expected. I normally was paying a considerable amount more for my guitar setups in Charlotte, NC. I dropped my guitar off at opening and was able to pick it up the same day which was also unheard of in Charlotte. Got it home and it played like a champ, just as I wanted it to. I will be bringing my backup guitar to be setup shortly. Definitely will be my go to place for my guitar work in Myrtle Beach. If you are picky like I am when it comes to someone doing work on your instruments, look no further.

T is the man. I was golfing with friends a couple of weeks ago in Myrtle Beach. I rented a great guitar and got two lessons. Very reasonable prices, btw. T is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic - I learn a clever way of remembering musical notes.

Went to visit during my vacation to get a guitar modified. It was ready in less than a day and was fair priced. T was friendly and did a great job on the guitar. Definitely coming back when I'm on vacation.

Went for some strings. He not only strung it, but instructed me on how to do it. Very patient. Probably a good teacher, which I'll probably experience.

Stopped in while in Myrtle Beach to look at guitars. It's a comfortable little shop with a bunch of electric, acoustic, and bass guitars to try out. I bought a used molded case for my Peavey T-60 for a very reasonable price and they offered to ship it home for me for a minimal charge. Next time, I'll be renting a guitar to play during our stay. Take 30 minutes and try it out. You will not be disappointed!

We brought in two guitars that were acting up, one hasn't worked in quite sometime but noone has been able to figure it out. After dealing with horrible service at andy owings we ran across guitarzan and he was awesome!! Now as silly as this may seem all the guitars needed were some cleaning up in the input jacks, and connectors and both work just fine! Needless to say we will be back for any musical assistance needednin the future!

If I could give this place a billion stars, I would. After searching for someone to restring my guitar (another local place was going to charge me $25!) Google led me to GuitarZan. Now, first of all, this place has an awesome name. But ultimately, owner and guitar expert T Moody and his wife, Jill, are the highlight of this establishment. Not only did re-stringing my guitar cost only $10 (which includes strings), but T Moody polished my acoustic Ibanez and made it look beautiful again.

GuitarZan is tucked away in a quiet facility off of 21st Avenue North in Myrtle Beach. The shop itself is beautifully decorated with an animal-esque jungle theme and features a room with really awesome and unique guitars at reasonable prices.

T Moody himself offers guitar lessons here, and though I just found out about this place today, I will definitely consider taking lessons here. Not only are T Moody and Jill very knowledgeable and helpful, they are two of the friendliest shop-owners I have ever met. Great customer service makes me happy. Needless to say, next time I am in the market for a new guitar, I will go to them.

Oh, and they really care about their community. They are big supporters of helping at-risk and underprivileged teens from programs such as Teen Turnaround. I think that's really, really, really sweet.

Skip the bigger-named places in town that will rip you off and go to T Moody and Jill at GuitarZan!
