Attended the day and night safaris this week. Couple cons out of the start - booking this online is not user friendly so make sure you read each program and make sure you pick the right one. Once it’s purchased, it’s yours, no refunds. You can change dates, but no refunds. Also, get the pictures. You cannot bring a camera or cell phone, so the only picture you would get without the package is a single 8x11. Once you arrive you spend the next 75 minutes signing a release, getting pictures taken, and sitting. I’m not sure why this takes so long, but would be beneficial if they sent these releases with their confirmation emails to help speed things up. With that said, the day program is about 3 hours ( so figure on 4.5 hours) . They do everything promised in the description, up close viewing of Liger, cheetah, and interactions with wild babies of all sorts. I’m sure this might change with the seasons. The staff is very knowledgeable and the time passes very quickly. You do get to understand what a loss it would be if these creatures became extinct. Also some good snack along the way.
The evening program is different, but also everything included that was described. Night animals were more active and got to see the babies again. Food was pretty good too.
We did this for my granddaughter who really wanted to be able to interact with these animals. The ones she got were babies, but she had the time of her life. The cost is very expensive, but if you can afford it, a lot of the money does go to Our dproactive protection of these animals in Africa.

This was our second visit to Myrtle Beach Safari - in April we took a day safari and loved it so much that we returned to experience the night safari. They are two very different experiences, but expect to learn a lot and have a great interaction with many species of animals during your visit for either tour. You'll spend several hours touring the facility grounds with the staff (it is clearly evident how well they know and love the animals in their care). This is a very hands-on experience that would be difficult to find elsewhere. Please note that you will not be able to bring a camera (or even a cell phone) during your tour, so consider carefully whether you want to purchase the digital photo package. It seems expensive, but this is a unique experience and it is much less expensive to buy the photo package in advance of your visit.

Their facility, staff, and animal ambassadors epitomized professionalism and class. We felt safe during the entire safari. I highly recommend visiting if you have the slightest interest in exotic animals and/or animal conservation. There was never a dull moment and our experience was unforgettable.

I absolutely love monkeys and was looking forward to see the gibbons, and the baby chimp. The baby chimp was so cute and I could have just cuddled him all day long. I really enjoyed seeing the different animals and the food and drinks they had for the night tour was very good. We went down to Myrtle tho when COVID started to get worse and I felt they had way too many people in the tour. I understand they have to make money too but there was a lot of people in the tour and made me a little uncomfortable being around that many people at this time due to COVID. We were trying to avoid crowds of people and felt like with that many people and you don't get that much time with the animals. For the amount you pay I feel like you should get some time to play and interact with some of the animals more.

While it was great to be able to interact with the animals, it was so quick it was almost a blur. In total there was only myself and another family that booked the package for the photo experience and yet they only allowed exactly one minute with the animals. I thought that since we paid over $100 for this opportunity, and the family over $400, we would at least get to pet the animals for a minute. But as soon as the pictures were taken, they rushed the animals away. Also, while in the very small fine print that they can’t guarantee what animals will be there, they advertise playing and photos with tigers. Everywhere you look you see tigers and that pulls you in. But in reality, there are no tigers. That was very disappointing. So, if you want to hold a monkey, pay over $100 and go for it. If you want to see the tigers, pay over $500/person, and go on the safari.

I did the day safari tour on today as of writing this review on Saturday, August 7th 2021. I will not be considering the "abuse" of the animals that I see other people writing about as I personally did not see that. But one thing I did notice was that when we went to see bubbles, one of the tour guides said that elephants shed their tusks by banging the against a tree or something to avoid being poached but when I did research on the topic every website I seen says that elephants don't do that and their tusks cannot grow back so their is no shedding and when looking at the tusks, it looked like they were sawed rather than hit off like they suggest. And websites also said that having their tusks taken off causes them pain since they have nerves in their tusks. I would like some answers from MBS if they happen to see this. But like I said I won't consider abuse because I don't know for sure if abuse did happen. Everyone who trains and raises the animals seems to really care about the animals and all the animals seem to be very happy and I cannot just assume that abuse is happening behind the scenes without actually seeing anything. Therefore these rumors will not affect my experience in this tour and will not affect my rating in this review.
So with that being said let me say that this tour is worth it. It was very expensive, it was over $600 including tax for one person for the digital photo package which is what I got. If your struggling with money then I would not recommend doing this tour but if money isn't much of an issue then this is definitely something that should be on your bucket list. The staff there are extremely nice if you do what they ask. They will answer any questions you got and I can definitely tell that they really do care for the animals they have. They are also very informative, a lot of stuff I didn't even know about. All of the animal interactions were an easy 10/10. Unfortunately you don't get to hold or interact with the animals for too long but it's understandable when there's like 50 other people there who also paid to interact with the animals. It's hard to pick a favorite moment as there was so many unforgettable moments from playing with the baby tigers to playing volleyball with the chimpanzees to feeding bubbles the elephant. I love animals so much and having the opportunity the interact with these animals was so wholesome to me. I can not recommend this place enough for anyone who loves animals.

This was one of the highlights of my life. I never dreamed I could hold and be close to so many wild animals. Every animal we held or petted was so sweet and calm. I guess my favorite was the gibbon monkey because I got to hold her like a baby and she was so loving. The tiger babies were just as adorable. Bubbles the elephant let me hug and kiss her trunk. The wolf put her head in my lap while I petted her and the little lemur climbed on my shoulder and was nuzzling my hair then let us hold her.The lynx sat by my legs while I petted him and was beautiful. They were all my favorites. The chimp play time with the beach balls had me laughing so hard I hurt. They were hysterical. The grown tigers swimming with their handlers was awesome. The way the tigers jumped on them and wrestled made it clear they have no fear of the humans which assures me they are treated well. There was just too much fun to be had by those tigers to make me think otherwise. The other thing I loved was how loved these animals are, they were calm and their environment was so much better for them than a zoo. I usually feel bad when I go to a zoo, but not here. I felt happy they have so much room and their areas are so filled with natural landscaping to give them privacy, security and room. Loved this place.

The guides were amazing, they amplified my experience tremendously. Please give them some comp days, a raise, or something. Knowledgeable, nice workers like that, YOU MUST keep. Even the bigger man that was making sure no one wandered off the path was extremely nice. Woman with a tiger tattoo on her leg, woman handling the monkey and the three main guides (blonde with glasses, her colleague, and the man that handled the owl) all great 💪🏾. Will definitely visit again .

We did the preservation station at barefoot landing in Aug 2021. When compared to other opportunities to encounter and photograph with rare animals, this place is over priced for the experience that you get. Seemed very rushed even though we were the only ones there. We sat with the tiger cub, lemur and baby ape and total experience lasted about 3 minutes total. Paid $150 for two of us and an additional $75 for photos. Would recommend monkey jungle in Miami hands down over this 3 minute experience.

This is a once in a lifetime experience that I recommend to anyone wanting to be hands of with some wildlife. The flow of the safari was very methodical, the story telling that's goes along with each phase was great. It wasn't rushed to allow ample time with all the animals. I enjoyed myself. My favorite part was interacting with the chimps!

The minimum age for the day Safari is six years old but all ages are welcome on the night Safari and preservation station. All participants regardless of age are required to pay an admission fee.
Hi! I am trying to decide between purchasing the Photo Experience package for $200, or going for the 3-hour day safari tour. I’m most looking for adorable pictures cuddling baby tigers, but am unsure if that would be possible with just the photo experience as it says it’s only 10 minutes. Not sure if I should splurge or keep it simple. Just want to get the best pictures and experience without feeling rushed! Any suggestions would be great.

We did both. The day safari offers so many opportunities to interact with animals and you can purchase a picture package that gives you dozens of photos of you with all of them. We appreciated the Photo Experience as well, as it was more intimate and gave you more time with the tiger one on one. Next time I have a chance to go back, I will do the day safari, the night safari, and the photo experience all three!!!

Will you please release Bubbles to an elephant sanctuary? She has certainly paid her dues and has not been around other elephants for like 40 years. This is total animal cruelty and torture on her!

These Animals are very well taken care of . They get more stimulation than at a zoo & have a very carefully crafted routine that mimics their needs. How would you like to be moved to a sanctuary after living with your family for 40 years?
Hi, I just came across your review and I am planning a trip for my birthday. My wish is to hold and kiss the chimpanzees like in your pictures! what package did you get? and how much was the cost per person/group? Thank you!

Wild Encounters Day Tour. We went on a Saturday and there was a large group. It cost us just over $3,000 for four of us and the cost included the picture package. I would definitely order the picture package when you book your tour. I don't know if the cost might have been less if we went on a different day of the week ~ Saturday was our only option. I would do it again whatever the cost, as long as I could afford it. Be sure to book on a day you KNOW you can go, because there are no refunds. WONDERFUL experience!!!!

Hi, me and my family are wanting to go here and get to experience this wonderful tour. We want to do the day tour but i’m not sure if the photo package is one photo or a couple photos and if each photo is ordered separately. And i think you get the photos printed out at the end and you get to pick your photo/s? correct me if i’m wrong.
You get a photo album worth of pics!!! I’m not sure if they offered only one photo, but GO FOR THE PACKAGE DEAL!!! Ours were fantastic. You ABSOLUTELY CANNOT TAKE A CAMERA or PHONE!! They will kick your entire party out and they’ve seen every trick in the book of people trying!! After going thru the safari, it’s so understandable why they don’t allow cameras or phones!!
Our day at the safari was incredible with lots of surprises and yummy snacks and drinks along the way!!
I will definitely go back with lots of family and friends!!
ENJOY!!!!

If I purchase Safari Myrtle Beach tickets with NO Digital photo's do I have an option to add a photo on in the end?

You can, but it is cheaper to add before. They tell you at the beginning of the tour that add now or later, but costs more because they have to manually do things that is set up automatically up front. The photos are well worth it.

Do you get to hold baby tigers during the night tour?
jen_2000
Richlands, VA197 contributions
You don't really get to hold them. You do get pictures with them but you don't really hold them. Its just enough time for the picture to be taken and you get to pet them briefly. The day tour is better for that because they let them roam around and you can play a little more with them. Still isn't enough time I don't think.
