Paddle boarding on the river with Trent was a peaceful and incredibly humbling experience. He made it all very simple then just let us enjoy the beauty of the river and the wild life that call it home. This was my first trip to Myrtle Beach and after seeing this beautiful place I might choose it over the beach. Worth every penny!

Trent was our guide and he was awesome! So chill and relaxed and knowledgeable! We are a family of 5 with 17 and 15 yr old daughters and an adventurous 11 yr old son, Zac. Zac was in the water as much as he was on his board! Zac's mission was to get his sisters wet!! Haha.... He succeeded! We all ended up in the water but you could absolutely stay dry for the entire tour if you chose to! Trent was flexible with us and made it fun for our whole family. We did the 8am tour and I'm glad we did bc it was beautiful out and not too hot. Trent took some pics along the way and talked to us about the wildlife and plant life. A couple tips: 1. You will meet at a storage unit, I didn't know that so we were a little confused when we arrived at the address. You'll fill out some quick paperwork and then follow your guide to the water, about a 10 min drive. 2. Go to the restroom before you get there! Once you arrive there are no restrooms! 3. Dress to get wet, it's more fun! 4. Flip flops are perfect, most of us went barefoot and put our flops on the board. 5. Don't wear nice glasses or sunglasses without a floatation strap on them.. Glasses sink. Just ask my husband..oops. 6. You don't need a camera bc Trent takes pics and sends them to you a couple days later. What a great morning of light exercise, goofing around in the water, learning about our surroundings, seeing a white and pink wild hibiscus, and learning a new sport!! Now we all want to try surfing!!!

Beautiful, relaxing paddleboard tour through some lesser known parts of the Myrtle Beach area. Awesome to getaway from the heavy tourist crowd at the beach. Guides are very well versed in the wildlife and waterway. Very thorough and easy to understand instruction on using the paddleboards. The 2 hours goes fast! Our family of four, (boys 10 and 14) were captivated the whole time with both guides, Trent and Meghan. They're doing this for all the right reasons and would highly recommend the tour for locals and visitors alike!

I've been coming to Myrtle Beach for decades and never new about this beautiful, serene part of the area! Just a short drive (<20 min) from our condo, we discovered another world. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area, and flora and fauna on the Waccamaw River. He was also an excellent instructor on paddle boarding. I am 65 years old and had never been on a paddle board. I am in reasonably good shape, but coordination is not my long suit. I did not fall once! Activity is not strenuous -- you can paddle as hard as you like or mostly drift along. Don't miss this! I have posted magnets in my condos so all our guests will know about this hidden gem.

The ocean strip area in and around Myrtle Beach is very commercialized, however, the rivers are not. If you like to get back to nature, the Waccamaw river refuge is an ideal place to go paddling. It reminded us from scenes in the movie, " The Note Book." It proved to be a wonderful experience for the whole family. Standing up on a paddle board in calm water is rather easy. My two teenaged daughters loved it. We saw a variety of wildlife to include alligators. It is much more difficult to paddle into the wind. Therefore, early morning is the best time to go. There tends to be afternoon ocean breezes; so if possible, go in the A.M. Also, you most likely see more wildlife in the early morning. Jump off your paddle board and take a short swim in the orangey tea colored river. It is quite refreshing and makes for some unique photos. Jay and/or Trent will tell you where it is safe to swim. Things to bring: camera (waterproof), water shoes, hat, swimsuit, t-shirt, neoprene gloves, bug spray, and sunscreen.

My brother and I (19 and 21) went paddle boarding while on vacation in Myrtle Beach last week. We were looking for something different to do, and a way to get away from our parents for a little while, so we scheduled a paddle boarding tour. It was an awesome experience. The actual act of paddle boarding was surprisingly easy, once you got the hang of it. It was fun just paddling down the river and seeing the wildlife. We saw an alligator, some turtles, and a very territorial osprey. It was very scenic and peaceful. We even swam for awhile in the water. Trent was a great tour guide and knew a lot about the river. It was really interesting to hear his stories of his time in Hawaii and how he started he business. He kept the conversation going, even though my brother and I aren't the most talkative of people. I would definitely recommend this to everyone!

My daughters, their friend, and I went paddle boarding last Friday on our trip to Myrtle Beach. The perspective from the lake was beautiful and there were many different types of wildlife we encountered. Trent was very knowledgeable about the reservoir and introduced us to many different aspects of the river. During our trip we encountered a few unsuspecting motor boaters who threw some of us off the boards which made the experience all the more more interesting. Overall the trip was a wonderful experience :)

My husband and I took our five boys - ages 11, 9, 9, 8 and 5. Trent was very patient, fun and an excellent teacher. The sights were beautiful and despite the raucous 5 boys will make - very peaceful on the river. We have been wondering about paddle boards and this trip convinced us to buy some. Our children have had the opportunity to do all the touristy things... This was by far their favorite of all time.

None of us had ever Paddle boarded before, but we saw the reviews on trip advisor and thought we would try Carolina Paddle Company.
Trent is one of the nicest guys you will meet, he took the time to give each one of us instructions before we hit the water, and he continued to teach us as we paddled up the scenic waterway. He even pointed out wildlife along the way. Words cannot describe my gratitude, as we were paddling a knucklehead driving a pontoon boat came extremely close to us without even slowing down, Trent first guided us to a safe area and then Trent yelled at the boat and actually stopped them explaining how dangerous what they had just done was, and the rules of the waterway. I am a retired police officer and I was quite impressed with his professionalism.
We had a blast and Trent took us to a perfect place to learn the proper form. The kids can't wait to go again.
If you ever thought about trying paddle boarding this is the guy to try it with. Trent thanks for a great family experience.
I am a health nut and Trent's a KonaRed (Hawaiian Superfruit Antioxident Juice) Dealer. That stuff is great, plenty of energy, great taste and no coffee like jitters, and its really good for you unlike those fake energy drinks.
