This was a beautiful course with very good greens and some challenging but fair shots. Staff was very friendly. We will come back to Avocet!

The last time I played there was 25 years ago when only the Hummingbird and Woodstork courses were open and Wild Wing was the craze of Myrtle Beach golfing. I revisited in 4/16 and the course was in great shape and surprisingly very empty. Lots of room off the tee to spray the ball and plenty of challenging pins demanding... More

Course was fine and I enjoyed the layout. Greens were fast and rolled true. Seems like the facility is beginning to be neglected. Huge clubhouse but not many golfers. Overall conditions were good. Could be much better with some TLC and $$$ invested in maintenance. Great course to get a practice round in for any golf trip to the area.... More

Upon arriving at the Avocet courses, which is somewhat difficult, the place looks great. The staff was ok. Pricing was normal , but I have to say the course is in great shape. Very nice green fairways and relatively fast greens. I'd recommend this course. Fun & challenging.

14 golfers headed to Myrtle Beach for a 3-round weekend. I was pleasantly surprised at this nice course off Hwy 17 between Myrtle Beach and Conway, SC! Received warm welcome from bag-drop to 1st tee! This course had the best greens (by far) of the three we played. It has been an extremely wet/rainy season, but course held up very... More

Played this complex in it's hay day back in the 1990's 3 courses, clubhouse was beaming and alive with tons of people. The practice area could not be beat. This was in January folks!!! It is sad to see how housing developments ruined this majestic complex. Probably never really got to build once the housing bubble burst. Now you see... More

Golf course was a bit wet and sloppy when we played it but more than enjoyable. Course layout is fair with wide landing areas and nice greens. Plenty of bunkers but very few are in dangerous positions. Most can be played away from with ease. Green complexes had some pretty severe slopes, making bets even more interesting. Greens rolled true... More

The course was in very good shape for October, had tons of mosquitos though. We started 15 minutes late due to slowness, we quit after 15 holes as we we approaching a 5 1/2 hour round. The ranger said every hole was filled, and they were starting foursomes every EIGHT minutes, unbelievably. Even thought the course is very good won't... More

Ignore what the negative reviews have stated... people having to wait on groups in front of them despite arriving an hour early in the middle of golf season... hello... its called a tee time! not first come first serve. Greens are almost always in great shape. A few holes stay "damp" because shaded by trees. Single tee so no back... More

Had a 11:30 tee time and had arrived an hour ahead. A group of 16 was ahead of us and we asked the starter if we could go ahead. He said no because he said he needed to get the group off before. He let no one leave until after 11:00 and they let the entire group off at once.... More
