Two families visiting the North Myrtle Beach area, the husbands wanted to play a round of golf. This course was recommended by the timeshare staff where we were staying. The course looked great, beautiful wide fairways and greens. We played the first five holes and were approached by the course ranger to speed up our play, curious since we had a foursome only one hole in front of us. The group behind us seemed very close at times so there was a lot of pressure to keep moving and not play comfortably. At the turn around we learned that there was a local behind us who it seems is always in a hurry and called the clubhouse to complain that things were not moving fast enough to suit her. So if your not a local you may want to play at another course, there are plenty of good choices in the area.

On our recent vacation to Myrtle Beach, we played this course. We booked it through our resorts golf director and it cost $55 for 18 w/cart. Reasonable price and the course was nice. As previous review cites, coolers were still allowed as we saw several people bring them on the course.
The course had pretty decent scenery and a variety of hole types. It had 5 tee box settings for all skill levels of golfers. Hole 18 was a great finishing hole.
There were lots of golfers, but at no time did we have a huge wait or a huge back up. Tee times were properly spaced and grouped.
We would be willing to play this course again for the money it cost.

My group played here in late April. Possum Trot was the fourth course in our "buy three get one free" and was the free course. Knowing this, my expectations were set very low and I planned the course as our warm up course. So with expectations set on low I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. The course is one of the old ones on the strand and is a fairly straight forward golf course. I found conditions to be good all around and enjoyed my round. I found the staff to be nice and helpful. As you plan your myrtle beach adventure I suggest including this course as your warm up course. You may not want to run to the course but it is certainly worth the trot

Went golfing here today, played 9 holes and my family was told to please come up the pro shop on the turn around to hole 10 so we did, knowing we did nothing wrong so we were very curious. So we walk up there and there is one of the workers, a "ranger" as they are called, that accused my father of golfing after not having paid. He claims to have saw him hitting and swinging clubs on 5 of the 9 holes we had played when he had not even touched a golf club that entire time. We tell him he must have been mistaken or watching the wrong group, but he insisted it was us that he had been watching us for a while. Obviously after being accused of this we were furious because we came all the way to Myrtle Beach for a golfing vacation and being called liars and cheaters we did not even want to finish the final 9 holes. Decent course, nothing spectacular but was expecting a little southern hospitality at the least. Thank you Chris, for ruining our day you blind old fart

Shame on me for forgetting my wallet after a round of golf with my wife and returning my cart to staff at the drop off area. Shame on Possum Trot and it's bottom dwelling staff for removing all my money from my wallet when I returned.

Staff was rude. This is a very unwelcoming place. We had to struggle to get the rate that we were quoted on the rate sheet. Then they didn't give the appropriate rate to one of our group who only played the second nine. Took a $20 bill from one of our group for a soft drink and gave change for a $5 bill. Then denied it and wouldn't make it good. If you can play at another place, you should. If not, hold onto your wallet.

Fun course to play, friendly staff, some beautiful holes and very consistent greens. The course was in great shape for February play.

First visit to this course. we enjoyed the layout. Not surrounded by Condos as many courses are in this area. We really liked the yardage books with a stroy regarding the layout of each hole, unique.

A woman friendly/senior friendly course to play with a really nice staff from the pro shop down to the cart crew and starter. Great deals for multiple plays! Nice value for a fun course

The morning rates in the summer are much greater than after 12-1 pm. I would call to check on the specials for the day that you are going to play. Also try Eagles nest or Eastport. They are close by and may have a better rate.
