The pier was destroyed by a hurricane and we never went back. Part of it is there but it was never repaired.

Most of the pire was destroyed by hurricane Matthew a couple of years age. The resturant and gift shop that was there is now closed up and the pier is blocked off so you can not walk out onto what is left.

The pier is not available and closed the beginning area is still there, but not open. All but 30 feet of the Pier was washed away. There is now a Hilton hotel - Double tree that is in that area now, maybe they will re-build...More

for the past two years we have stayed just past the springmaid pier of course half of it has been destroyed by the hurricane but i still walk to the pier and back a time or two a day i am glad to see there...More

Not much pier left.......the foodstand was almost empty. Looks really unsafe. Hopefully they will rebuild or cleanup.

Surfside Beach council still out on this one looking at steel at woodpiles ND concrete...the wheels will turn slowly on this one.. they want to rebuild BUT are procrastinating
