They had bar food available but I just sampled the beer. I am a certified beer judge & home brewer. All beers were well made and the server was quite knowledgeable. THEY DID NOT OFFER FLIGHTS. This was disappointing as I would have liked to try more beers. They did have 6 oz pours but that was more beer than I wanted.

Attend the roll out of the 2020 version of the big wooly mammoth and it's siblings. All of the beer were outstanding. The honky red was aged in red wine barrels and has a great wine aroma and flavor. The impossible jam is infused with raspberries. Good very nose and flavor. The waker was aged in buffalo trace bourbon barrels and has locally roasted espresso beans added. Wow!! Lots of coffee. Finally the big wooly 2020 was aged in woodford reserve barrels. Stop by before the siblings are gone. Cheers 🍻

Second year visiting. This place is a hidden gem. Limited hours, so verify they are open.
I had the So Dirty. It was fantastic. My wife does not like IPA’s and she really likes it.
The Big Wooly Mammoth Stout is killer also. Smoothie and rich.
Can’t wait to come see you guys and girls next summer!

I am so glad I stumbled upon this attraction on tripadvisor. I wouldn't have ever known about them otherwise. They are located off 10th Street in Myrtle Beach. Well worth the drive from my hotel in N. Myrtle... Situated in an industrial styled area, you could literally drive by and never know they exist. This gem of a brewery offers complimentary tours every Tuesday & Thursday from 3-5:30pm. Plan on being there one hour as these guys will spend some time with you. Our tour was fantastic and hosted by Brock but the other two fellows are just as cordial. Very informative at all times, our tour was informal and relaxing. We learned about their machines and even chewed on several malts (taste like grape nuts, sort of...) and we sampled every craft beer they produced. Nut Brown, porter, lagers, white ale, IPA, and a few more. I tried them all and loved them all!!! They offer growlers for sale after the tour but I never felt pressured to purchase. I returned on Thursday & purchased 3 growlers and a t-shirt and they all made it back to Indiana safely. Sad to say, I can't buy new south brew up here. As far as I understand, they pretty much stick to their local demographic area for sales. You can find their beer at the liberty restaurants and t-bonz steakhouses, iirc.
This is a must see attraction if you like any type of beer and it will be an annual stop for me for years to come.

Let me start the review by mentioning that New South Brewing was the best tour I have ever been on. Despite entering the tour late, my girlfriend and I were still allowed to partake and were greeted by the friendly and accommodating staff. The tour guides name has slipped my mind (whoops, might have enjoyed a few to many pourings after the tour!!) but he was amazing. He was extremely charismatic and his love the craft really showed. Upon entry, we were given a cup which the staff filled with their delicious white ale. As we moved through the brewery, we were given more samples of their various beers. Some of the ones they sampled were: White Ale, Nut Brown Ale, Red Ale, and the last one they allowed us to choose, being an IPA guy, I selected their IPA which was delicious. At the end of the tour, they had a pouring where you could get some drafts of their other various beers (obviously had to pay for the drafts, but the entire tour and samples were free). Although they did not have a kitchen, there was a food truck conveniently parked right outside which had INCREDIBLE sandwiches. I got a pork tenderloin sandwich which still makes my mouth water!!!
The entire tour was free of charge which makes it a no brainer to attend!! There were people of all ages and statuses. Even if you do not enjoy beer, you will still have a blast listening to hilarious stories and in depth details of how they masterfully craft their beer. My girlfriend hates beer, and still had an amazing time!!

If your in town and looking for something non-touristy and a great time this spot has it all. Roddy will show you around and give a knowledgable tour and be your bartender afterwards. The brewery offers free tours on Tuesday and Thursday at 3:15 and the bar opens at 4:30...definately stop by if your in town.

My husband and I are from Michigan and celebrating our 20 year anniversary. So we found this place on TA and thought it sounded cool. We followed our GPS and it takes us to a scary old industrial drive with a lumberyard and old buildings. We assumed we were in the wrong location...until we see a small sign in a junk cluttered area. We left. Then, as we were driving, I read the TA reviews again and we went back. We got out if the car and was walking in with only young 25 year old guys...we said forget it and walked back to the car. On our way back, we noticed a foursome of clean normal middle aged people walking in so we went in. It was the COOLEST thing we did in Myrtle Beach! Awesome beer, fun atmosphere and exceptionally friendly service! This is the perfect example of not judging a book by its cover!

The outside was a little scary, but don't let it fool you. The beer is excellent and staff is great. We will be coming back whenever we are in Myrtle.

Having been on twenty brewery tours now. This one ranks right up there. Brock gave us a fun and very informative tour. The story of three guys doing this all by themselves and making such great beer was amazing in itself. A very good tour and would like to stop here again when in Myrtle Beach. Highly recommended!!

Is there outside seating? If not, is there a spot to sit outside if we bring our own chairs? Thanks!

Child friendly?
ToughRod

Hello. We all love kids and most of us have kids here at the brewery! But, unfortunately, we try to discourage children from coming. We are a production brewing in a warehouse buried in the middle of a warehouse district. There is nothing for them to do and they get quite bored. We do allow well behaved children, but strollers must be kept out of the tap room, as out tap room is very small. Children must be accompanied at all time by a sober adult of age 21 or higher. We have had a few issues with chirdran on the tours as it is a lengthy, educational tour with adult humor along the way. As I mentioned before, we absolutely love kids, but our business has been in operation for almost 20 years, and only in the last 3 years have we been able to open our door to the public... So we have minimal amenities. Thank you for inquiring about New South Brewing and keep drinking local. Cheers

Hello, due to safety product demands along with safety protocols we had to discontinue our organized tours from memorial day through Labor Day. We do, however, have informal tours during the draft pour hours (4:30-7, Tue-Fri). Thank you for your interest in New South Brewing and keep drinking local. Cheers

How many different beers do they serve ? What size can you purchase there ? A glass ?
ToughRod

Hello, we can have anywhere from 10-15 different styles depending on small batches and market demand. We are a production brewery and can be out of our best sellers at our tap room in order to fulfill our orders for bars and restaurants. Fortunately, this seldomly occurs. Thank for your interest in New South Brewing and keep drinking local. Cheers
