Rode the MB SkyWheel on a girls weekend. It's a fun and different thing to do at the beach. It's a nice smooth and slow ride that offers a beautiful view of the Grand Strand.

You can see the entire coastline from the top! Takes awhile to do the entire loop around as it seats many people. Quite the stomach churn! You won't be dissappointed.

You get great views on this ride. It is expensive to ride and is not really worth the money. Helicopter ride may be better value

It was a cold windy day but the enclosed cars are warm and the views of the beach and city are awesome.

This is my second time riding this. The first time was in September at night. Which was a bit scary. Rode again in the morning of Black Friday was much better. Will recommend to my travel clients. Travelingwiththeburns

We planned this perfectly so we could get right on the sky wheel and see the colors of the sunset over the water for our October visit. We bought seven tickets and waited in line and when we got to the front my young daughter...More

Our family has taken a ride on the SkyWheel many times. It has great views and a fun family activity right in the center of Myrtle Beach.

Very nice view and enjoyable to see from the top. Great for kids to enjoy and not get overwhelmed over the ride.

You sit on the wheel and it feels safe...no rocking at all. You can view the ocean and the shore for miles in both directions. It was a fun time.

Sports Bar? Age? Watch Hockey?? (2 Replies)
My 18 year old son wants to watch the Blackhawks game on Sunday night, we are staying between the Skywheel and Amusement Park, Any Suggestions, I would prefer he not drive, but if there is some place safe, I wouldn't mind...

I would call the Landshark Grill (part of the Skywheel) and see if they would have the game. (843) 788-0001 Other than that, I'm not sure there is a bar in that area that I would feel safe letting my 20 year old son walk to. If Landshark doesn't work out, you might want to go to a national chain like Buffalo Wild Wings, Hooters, or Wild Wing Cafe, but those would all entail driving. Good luck.

Walking the boardwalk at night (5 Replies)
Is it safe to walk down to the SkyWheel and Boardwalk at night? We are staying up about 26th Ave and about a mile or so away. Would love to walk down that way down the beach at night but just wondering if it is safe.

My family and I were down in July. We visited downtown one night and walked the boardwalk for a little over a mile at night. Never once did we feel unsafe, and actually preferred it over the crowded street area. We saw many cops on golf carts at various locations along the board walk as well, just patrolling and checking things out. We walked to the 2nd ave. pier from our parking spot, again a good mile or so away, and back. We started out at dusk and made our way back at about 10:00 pm. No...More

Cabs at the SkyWheel (2 Replies)
Are cabs usually present at/near the SkyWheel? If we're too pooped out and didn't want to walk back to our condo, could we take a cab from there?
