Both my husband and I went kayaking with our daughter Christina Aguilera" and had the time of our lives. Our guide, Richard was really nice and experienced. We saw dolphins and all sorts of birds. Can't wait to do this again!

They guides and the brochures won't guarantee that you will see certain animals, but we went for a 2 hour kayak tour in the Salt Marsh tour, and we saw multiple eagles, exotic birds, a dolphin, and two alligators. It was a truly rewarding experience....More

Okay, Black River Outdoors can't take credit for the beauty. But, we wouldn't have been out there to appreciate it without them. Our guide, Spaz, (yes, he assured us that was his name) was very informative and entertaining. He had the kayaks, oars and life...More

Kayak trip report (1 Replies)
[Note: I posted the update below on a thread from a couple of weeks ago, but it didn't bump to the first page for some reason. So I'm starting this new thread to be sure anyone who may be interested sees it.] So my daughter and I did the Murrells Inlet moonlight excursion through Black River Outdoors Center. It was great! The weather was perfect--not too hot, and the skies were clear. Our guide (Ron) was very nice and helpful. We met at Morse Park (next to the Hot Fish Club). After a...More

Kayaking on the marsh? (13 Replies)
We're thinking of renting kayaks to tool around the marsh (we'll be in the Garden City area). I found a couple of places that rent--Capt. Dicks at Murrell's Inlet and Black River Outdoors Ctr. in Georgetown. Anyone here done this before, and if so, what advice can you give? Thanks, Arby

I kayak Murells Inlet once or twice a week, and have taken a couple tours with Black River Outdoors - they're good folks. They also coordinate with Huntington State Park for a kayak tour of the marsh. Arrangements are made thru the park and Black River provides the kayaks and guides. I think it's once a week, but it may be more often. A couple other places that rent kayaks are Surf the Earth and Pawleys Island Beach Service, both in Pawleys. Advice? Make sure the spot you put in has...More
