We were a group of 12 players on a golf tour. This was a nice layout with some good holes, the tees were poor, the fairways were soft, the fringes were bumpy, the greens were good. The pace of play was fine for an afternoon tee time. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We played at River Club on April 20th. It rained a good bit overnight so the course was very wet and cart path only :(. Even with the cart path only, we thoroughly enjoyed the course. The greens were in good shape and rolled decent( they didn't mow them that morning due to the weather).
We enjoyed it enough that we Played 36 that day.
We will add River Club to our must play list.

The course was in decent shape. It had a really great layout we thought and saw quite a bit of wildlife during our round including lots of turtles and even a couple alligators. There is a lot of water hazards. The big downside was the grounds crew was very noisy and inconsiderate during play. It was a very slow round as we had to wait for every shot.

1st the golf course or what we were able to see of it is very nice.
We were practically thrown on the course by the starter ahead of our tee time ,Before we had even reached the 1st green a 3some was sent on the course . We were 4. The Marshall came to see us at the 3rd hole asked us to accelerate which we did , but if you are 3 you cannot expect a foursome ahead of you to be as quick.
We were so rushed that by the 6th hole we, my husband and I decided to end the race.
At the 9th hole the Marshall returned was full of excuses because we were now playing under 2hours to accomodate the arrogant threesome behind us .
I went to speak to the person in charge but she did not seem to care one way or another.
There are many great clubs to choose from in Myrtle Beach and I strongly suggest you invest your money elsewhere.We have played in many different countries and have never experienced anything close to this awful and arrogant treatement in a golf club .
Golf is as far as I know a Gentleman's game

We play this course on 03/14. The course was in great shape. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pace of play was good. I would play this course again.

A bunch of us old guys have been coming down to MB for the past 19 years. Played River Club on October 22nd and had a great time. We tried it for the first time last year and made sure it was included in our 2019 trip and we will ba back in 2020. Challenging and in great shape and the staff are all friendly and top notch .

Just finished playing the River Club. if EXCELLENT condition with fast greens that were receptive and an overall great value for the price...Put the River Club in Pawleys Island on you list to play!

While on a buddies golf trip we played The River Club. It is a very nice course in excellent condition. The staff were all great. A good course to include in any golf trip to Myrtle Beach

We play this course in a league all the time and it is always in excellent condition and I love the 18th hole with its challenge. Book this course, you will not be disappointed it is always in great shape. Be aware though that the course does not have a driving range!

PROS:
...The course has a really great layout.
...It's a gated community so you need a tee time to get on the property.
...Course has lots of water on many holes and many are forced carries (good for my husband who is a very good player).
...They have a nice clubhouse and friendly staff.
...The fairways, bunkers, and greens were in good shape.
... It had a nice practice/warm-up area other than the netted "driving range"
CONS:
...There is no no driving range. You hit beat up discolored balls into a net off mats.
...The starter was unpleasant and rushed us out ahead of time to the first tee and we then had to wait for two groups to tee off rather than practicing putting.
...Course has lots of water on many holes and many are forced carries (not good for me because I have trouble getting the ball up in the air).
