I turned in looking for the restaurant next door which didn't open until 4pm. So, I went down to the little park which is a memorial to a person lost at sea. The surprise was the parking here was not crowded, no tow away zones, no guy with his hand out wanting $10 to park so you can eat in an overpriced restaurant. There is walk down to the marsh access and a very nice boardwalk that is far closer to the marsh than up the road.
I watched a Snowy Egret catching minnows about 20 feet from me. If you really are interested in the ecology of the marsh and it's role in helping fish populations remain healthy, come here. You'll get it especially if it's low tide and the "white birds" are busy feeding.
No crowd, no rush, good breeze and terrific view. For free. What more would you want?

Morse Park is a tiny patch next to Hot Fish Club, with Free Parking, and close to the marsh where kayaks put in (before low tide!) and a few lucky fishermen find a niche along the boardwalk. The Lost at Sea Memorial is a serene, beautiful reminder that the Sea is powerful, and lovers of it find it worthy of the risks. T'his is a good place to park to get your bike out and ride along the bike trail, or put your kayak in the water -- but beware of the sea - you may have to wait through low tide pluff mud!

This is a quiet, peaceful area of Murrells Inlet. There are a few benches where you can sit and soak up the feeling of the inlet. The memorial features the likeness of one of the fishermen who perished along with an extensive list of names and dates of others who met the same fate. You could easily miss seeing it driving by but once you are there, it is an experience.

Never saw anything like this anywhere. Names of those who gave their life to the sea. Small but touching

Simple and touching tribute to remind us of those who would otherwise be forgotten people lost to an ocean full of lost forgotten people.

A small park, boat launch frequented by locals. Most drive past thinking it is the parking lot of the Hot Fish Club. Also good place to park and go biking

A simple roadside park, no facilities. Parking, boardwalk, and trash cans. There is a small monument to those lost at sea in the area. Great view of the inlet and Garden City in the distance. Nice place to have take out lunch and relax enjoying the inlet. Good place to get up close to the inlet ecosystem. You have to keep your eyes open to see the sign and driveway to get in.
