Captain Chase made the fishing trip relaxing and exciting for me, my dad and my son. Chase put us on the fish and kept us dry in some decent size swells. Next time I am here to visit my parents I will be booking a charter with Chase and Catch 1 fishing again.

I’ve booked with Catch 1 at least a half dozen times, probably more, and we just had the most EPIC day out with JB. One of the best days of fishing I’ve ever had, and I have had a lot of good days. We caught 7 different species thanks to JB being flexible and aggressive in his approach. He wouldn’t give up on putting my daughter on a redfish, and thanks to his knowledge and persistence she landed a world class fish that we will never forget. Thanks again, and I can’t wait to do it again!

Captain Lucas took me and my three kids out in search of flounder. Despite an unusually cold April/May that slowed down the bite, and inexperienced anglers, we caught a few flounder and had a great time.
The owner of the company (Captain Shannon) was very responsive and honest in trying to plan another trip - which didn’t pan out due to rainy conditions.

JB is a pro. From making us feel comfortable, to safety, to putting us on top of the fish for the entire trip. We were consistently pulling fish off the reef while the other boats looked lost. JB was seeing things out on the water that were 500yds away before they happened. Will do it again soon.

Capt Shannon was upfront from the beginning of our booking about weather and the best day of the week to go. TS Bertha was passing through. Having booked several of these weekly vacation spots over the years, I get that things are unpredictable and you only get a couple of days to choose from. I appreciated his candor and we changed from Th to Fri knowing that would be the better day. Capt Lukas and First Mate Martin Let us know up from that going for the King Mackerel we signed up for would be iffy with the storms coming through. We found out later that 4 foot waves out at sea would keep us in shore and that was fine by us. We had a blast anyway and came away with 2 flounder keepers. We enjoyed the conversation and learned a lot about what and how we were fishing from both guys. Would definitely book again and hope to in October when the King's are passing through en masse.

We always just tell it like it is....we can not control the weather or the fish bite. Living here on the coast things change ever hour and we just have to deal with it. You had a great crew and deserved a better day of weather...maybe next time things will be more in our favor.. Thank you for the kind words , as you seen we don't blow smoke to get you on the boat. Hope to see you this fall when the Kings and Big Red Drum are here...THANK YOU... Capt. Shannon

We had a great trip with Cap’n Lucas! He was very professional and his demeanor was perfect for our family. He went out of his way to get us where the fish were biting and our kids caught a bunch. He made sure we had fun and caught fish, which is exactly what we were hoping for!

This trip was a blast of a day with Shannon. It was just Shannon, my son, and me on this excursion, and we caught 9 Spanish mackerel in the span of around 3 hours. At the end we were given the choice to keep the fish to cook later on, and I can’t wait to try them. The process of the filleting took no more than 10 minutes. Shannon was very passionate and wise in fishing, which gave us a very good chance of catching a few fish. He was also good company while we fished. All in all I would recommend this trip for anyone looking to do something fun to fill their time.

The charter was scheduled via an online system. It was supposed to be a 4 hours deep sea fishing charter. We were instructed to arrive by 7:15am for a 7:30am departure. We arrived at 7:10am and stood right in front of the Catch 1 charter boat. At 7:23 I called the company and left a message that we were at the dock but no one was there. A few minutes later I received a call back from Shannon. He stated he would be right down to the docks. He arrived at 7:50am. After a few minutes of speaking he asked for us to give him a few minutes and he would take us out fishing. We left the docks at 8:35am. We were taken to the end of the break wall to catch bait fish with 1 inch long bait fish as our first fishing spot for about 30 mins. Then, he took us back in to the inlet to catch bait fish with his nets. However, both nets were damaged and he struggled to make one net work. He took us to a spot about 100 yards farther into the inlet where we started casting to catch bigger bait fish. It was discovered that the bait fish bin had no working pump. This made the fish we did have die. Then, the trolling motor quit to work. The catch fish bin had no ice which even if we had caught anything it would have been spoiled by the time we returned. Captain Shannon who is aparently the owner repeatedly shouted about what a terrible day it was and wanted to return to the docks. He then tried for 30 minutes to start the boat motor. We returned to the dock at 12 noon. The entire time the captain was throwing gear around the boat and complaining about everything wrong with his day. After my teen sons thanked the captain for his time I sent them to the car. I told the captain that i had planned on tipping today however, because of the faulty equipment, starting an hour late, returning short the booked time and never making it to the ocean for fishing. I the asked if he would do anything to make it right for us. His response was no, that's fishing and boating. My 2 sons were very disappointed with the whole experience. We may never book a fishing charter again after this.

First off, let me point out that no where on my web site says we do DEEP SEA FISHING so with her words...SHE LIED. So with that being said I guess you can take the rest of what she claims as nothing more than a LIE. Then she stiffed me on the bill.

While we are movie fisherman at best, Captain Kerry kept us over the action and helped us land at least 9 different species! Only a few were big enough to take home but the activity was near non-stop. The Captain was Knowledgeable and friendly, the boat was solid. Solid operation; book now!

I would highly recommend Shannon's team at Catch 1 Sport Fishing.
Scheduling online was easy and when I talked with them over the phone, all my questions was answered. The day before, they checked in to confirm the appointment and time to leave the dock.
Even though no fish were caught worth keeping, all still had a good time.

My sons want to go out and fish I do not. How much does it cost to fish and to spectate? We will be going the beginning of April. Thanks.
Written March 17, 2016
Thanks for the mail.....if you have 3 people and only the boys want to fish we will cut you some slack on the price. It would be $425 for the boat but 3 people for $375 if you use the ATM in our lobby. Hope this will help and look to see you in April...Check us out on our web site and thanks for reading Trip Advisor...
