A wonderful clean beach with wildlife to observe, nature programs to attend and camp grounds that can be reserved in advance. Lots of parking with easy access to the beach. Site of Atalaya - the home of the Huntingtons who developed Brookgreen Gardens just across the highway.

Beautiful beach! Not overly crowded, beautiful science. The Adelaide. House is beautiful also, they have closed it but you can still see it from outside. Onbe of my favorite beaches! Great for beach family pictures!

The drive into the park is lovely with all the trees. There is a restroom in the office building...We stopped there after paying to get in. It seems to have plenty of parking. Camping is offered and the beach is pretty. The pier is small but it was a nice place to spend an afternoon and see a wedding.

This is the most unspoiled beach around the state park has many programs for families. It is a guarded beach.

South Carolina has an extensive State Park system and this is a shining example of how progressive the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism can be. Unfortunately, the night before we visited, lightning struck the Nature Center and totally destroyed it killing a lot of animals in their exhibits. The good news is that it will be totally... More

We we enjoyed this place so much. I took my mom, my sister and my 10 yr old daughter and my 8 yr old nephew. The kids enjoyed seeing the living salt marsh. They have a great souvenir shop with some fun oversized beach chairs for a photo op. DONT miss Atalaya Castle and make sure to take the castle... More

If you are near Myrtle and want natural beauty instead of crowds and high rises, thus is the place. This beach is clean, not crowded and beautiful. Admission to the park is $5 per head, but it's well worth it. This is the way beach vacations should be!!!!
