My Wife & I did a 10pm Ghost Tour on the Yorktown! It Was So Awesome!! There's So Much History On That Ship & It Was Like Having Our Own Private Tour!! The Spirits Were Definitely There!! It Was So Freaky & Cool All At The Same Time!! The Tour Guide Was So Knowledgeable & Had Lots Of Good Stories To Tell!! We Highly Recommend This Tour For Teens & Adults!!

Tad was a great tour guide. We went on the 9 pm "ghost" tour and, since it isnt climate controlled on the ship, that was the perfect time of day for this time of year. Being Navy vets ourselves, we love this kind of tour although it seems theres always that 1 guy who knows everything and wants everyone to know it. Tad was very gracious about it; he genuinely loves his job and it shows. Highly recommend this tour. P.S. Neither my sister or I experienced any paranormal activity although they stated that females are more suscept to it. Dont be scared....just do it.

We scheduled this for a last minute trip and I fully expected this to be cheesy and silly as many ghost tours are. I was shocked at the quality of the tour, and the lack of silly gimmicks. We were lucky enough to have Ben, both an excellent guide and apparently a high quality history teacher. We started with a brief history of the ship and tour of some parts of the ship including the triage area, quarters, mess hall ready rooms. We also toured some of the parts of the ship not accessible during the day, including officer quarters. The tour was filled with stories and Ben provided many, many pictures, some of which contained ghostly apparitions. We had a fantastic time, got spooked more than once, and would happily recommend this tour to anyone lucky enough to be in the area.

The tour was very good with great history, some interesting ghost stories and pictures of paranormal events. I would give it 5 stars if we had actually seen any ghosts ;-)

This was an interesting tour. While we didn’t experience paranormal activity the guide had fascinating stories that detailed ghost activity but also the historic relevance of the carrier and life (and death) aboard it. We toured the rest of the patriots point campus in the afternoon/evening before closing, saving the Yorktown for the tour, then walked to a nearby restaurant and came back for the ghost tour. Note that you really need a car to get there from downtown Charleston. We used a Lyft ride, which worked well. Not sure if it’s accessible by public transit.
