Booked a trip at the last minute. Stood up by another boat(High Yield). Capt Dave picked us up at the last minute and helped myself and my kids to salvage a bad day. Would suggest Capt Dave to anyone!

Exceeded our expectations in every way. Fair price for the time and experience. I have booked Capt. Dave in the past for all different occasions...harbor cruises, private inshore and off shore trips and bachelorette parties. His boat is quality as well!

Would not recommend this trip. For $600 there are more enjoyable things to do in the area.
Pro's: Able to fit us in for a trip last minute and was on time
Cons:
No life jackets pointed out or seen on boat. We were in a storm on the way home and none were ever offered.
Registration stickers on boat expired.
Vulgar and offensive language used by Captain David throughout trip.
3 poles available for 4 people.

Capt. Dave is the quintessential fishing guide. His fishing knowledge put us on the fish! Capt. Dave was informative about the area, and his humor made the trip a true winner.
I highly recommend Captain David Yates for a great day on the water!

I booked a day of fishing with David Yates. I wanted to catch a shark bigger then me. I am 6'4" 200lbs. Well...he delivered, I caught a 11' Lemon Shark. We fought it for two hours and it dragged us around the bay. Dave I a great boats handler and kept the boat in the right position and worked hard to get the shark to the boat.
It was an epic fight and with great fish and a great guide. The shark was released after pictures. Dave works hard to make his customers happy.
I will book with him again when I am in town.

We got stood up by another guide, and I asked Capt. Yates if he could get me in last minute. He was able to throw together a trip with 35 minutes notice.
Due to Hurricane Michael causing the harbor and ocean to be too rough to fish, we could only fish the backwater. My girlfriend and I each caught several trout, redfish, and bluefish.
I will absolutely fish with Capt. Yates the next time that I'm in Charleston.

We vacationed in Charleston last week for the 4th of July. Captain David made it an awesome trip. We went out with just the adults of our group on Monday and went 25 miles off shore to a spot he chose that almost seemed like it was baited it was so good. Once we were done fighting amberjacks he put us a giant kind mackeral on the way in. So awesome. On Friday we took the kids along and stayed in shore. He was super patient with my 3 and 5 year old boys and made sure they got to reel in some fish. He really made the kids feel like they were expert anglers. They enjoyed it as much as I did. The 36 foot contender we took off shore on Monday with triple 300's made the trip 25 miles out extremely smooth and quick so there was tons of fishing time. The 26 foot boat we were on in shore was perfect for the kids to get around in and feel safe. The two excursions last week were my 3rd and 4th time out with Captain David over the last three years. Every single trip has been better than the one before it. Wouldn't go with anyone else other than Dave in Charleston! Highly recommend!!!!!
