This hidden gem is one of the most beautiful parks in the South Carolina State Park system. With miles of trails, at least two names waterfalls within 1.5 miles of the main trail head, and a roaring stream and boulder strewn path shaded by mature...More

We have been hiking and camping at Jones Gap for over 20 years. It has hiking for all levels of difficulty. Love that you can backpack in for real privacy or camp close to the car if you just want to chill in the woods...More

This is a beautiful park with lots of hiking options. As others have noted, the parking lot is small. We arrived at 9 on a Sunday morning in early February and only 3 spaces were left. By the time we left a few hours later,...More

Went here in August 2017 a few days before the eclipse and fell in love (with the girl and the place). Very relaxing and peaceful -- a great place to get away and take a break. If you are in the area, highly recommended.

One of the nicest, if not the nicest, day hikes in the area. Nice to go in the fall after the leaves are down to see the mountains beyond. You have to get here relatively early as the rather small parking lot fills up quickly...More

It can be difficult to actually get into the park as there are only like 35 parking spots so try to pile into one vehicle. We did the Rainbow falls hike which is about a 5 mile round trip from the parking lot. The first...More

This really is five star all the way, but it is frustrating to arrive and have to wait an hour and a half to get in on the weekends. The extremely limited parking is actually a good thing, because it preserves green space(from parking lots)...More

I have been to Jones Gap State Park 3 different times to hike, every time the trails were beautiful! It is one of the coolest places to hike in SC. Twice I saw deer along the way. Some of the trails are more difficult and...More

I'm an avid hiker and have hiked in lots of places. But Jones Gap might just be my favorite place to put my boots on a trail. The main trail, the Jones Gap Trail follows the Middle Saluda River upstream for a little over five...More

Soooooo..... It's Beautiful! We took the hike all the way up to rainbow falls! - It was NOT for the faint of heart! But, totally worth it! The park fills up fast! So arrive early! Bring water and snacks:)
