Rainbow Falls is an amazing 100-foot freefall over a cliff face. The main way to get to the falls is through Jones Gap State Park. In the past, it was possible to access the falls from Camp Greenville, but this is a very steep and...More

My brother and I hiked this trail today for about the fourth time. We keep coming back to this particular trail and hike because it is short and sweet. It is a great hike when you want to fit some time in with nature, but...More

This beautifully kept state park has a lot of use by day-hikers with choices of moderate to strenuous trails. My favorite spot is a section of the headwaters of the Middle Saluda River. This stream cascades through the middle of the park and heads down...More

Jones Gap is a great place for day adventures. It is not too far from Asheville and has water features along the main trail and small waterfalls to hike to.

We visited Jones Gap on the way home from vacation and were thoroughly impressed with this beautiful park. They have limited parking, but the rangers are so nice and allow you to wait for a space to become available. They are very informative on the...More

I found this park to be lovely but they needed a few more signs to get you to the right trails. The park is very nice, from bridges and rivers, waterfalls, picnic areas, restrooms, a visitor center and plenty of parking. It costs $5 per...More

This is a beautiful waterfall. Easy to moderate trail. Rocky in places, but not unmanageable. Hated that we got a late start in bad weather where we couldn't go on to Rainbow Falls, but we definitely were happy with Jones Gap Falls.

Great place to hike, play in the water, or just unwind for the whole family or a group of friends. Parking is a real problem on the weekends so go early.

We had a great hike doing a little loop. Trails are well marked, provide excellent spectrum of terrain & ‘wildlife’ (snakes, leaches, frogs, snails, etc...)

This hidden gem is one of the most beautiful parks in the South Carolina State Park system. With miles of trails, at least two names waterfalls within 1.5 miles of the main trail head, and a roaring stream and boulder strewn path shaded by mature...More

We have been hiking and camping at Jones Gap for over 20 years. It has hiking for all levels of difficulty. Love that you can backpack in for real privacy or camp close to the car if you just want to chill in the woods...More

This is a beautiful park with lots of hiking options. As others have noted, the parking lot is small. We arrived at 9 on a Sunday morning in early February and only 3 spaces were left. By the time we left a few hours later,...More
