Traveled to the Charleston area and was recommended Kiawah Beachwalker Beach. It was a perfect visit. Dogs are allowed on the beach, on a leach, which allowed the both of us to enjoy a little time in the ocean. I went at 9am (when they opened) and had no issues with crowds. It was a clean beach with a really... More

Stopped here while visiting family on Johns Island. Another great find! Uncrowded wide sand beach with warm water & a guarded area, small changing & restrooms, outdoor showers and a snack bar. And, you could walk along the beach for a good distance to the south.

Beautiful, winding drive under oaks and over salt marshes. General store with gas station is on the same road. Bathrooms and showers on site- not immaculate, but better than local beaches with no options. Just $8 to park. For those that work at Charleston destinations, it's a county park, so they accept the reciprocity pass. This beach also has lifeguards... More

We visited Beachwalker today. It is a nice big clean beach with good facilities, but it is only open from 9am to 7pm. This makes the coolest hours of the day and sunsets unreachable to the public. Also this beach doesn't really have many shells if you are looking to go beachcombing.

It's 16 miles off of 17. You pay $8 for parking and there are time restraints to visit the beach whereas HHI it's free from sunrise to sunset. You do receive a charleston park brochure of local happenings. There's a small area to wash off and restrooms - this needs a ergonomic ventilation upgrade and plumbing upgrade as well. The... More

We are vacationing in Charleston and wanted to go to a less crowded beach. It was worth the 40 minute drive to come to Beachwalker Park. Super clean, quiet, non-commercialized...we just loved it! The water was like bath water. The sand is really packed down, and there were lots of people with bicycles on the beach - something we'll do... More

It was a 1 day trip from Fort Mill, SC to Kiawah Island, SC. We started at around 6:15 AM and reached at about 9:45 AM. We saw that parking lot was full but still got a spot to park. We unloaded the items and walked to the beach. It was really clean and has life guards on duty. Our... More

Enjoyed walking on the beach. The beach is similar to any other beach in the area but you will have to pay $10 per car to get in.

This is a solid beach this far up the Atlantic. If this beach were located in Florida I probably would have only given it a 4. The big positives were exceptionally warm water, very isolated, no high rises with thousands of tourists, a nice sand bar during low tide, good waves during high tide, harder compacted sand that doesn't get... We headed out to Kiawah for a afternoon at the beach and my oh my!! We have visited a few beaches in this Great Country of ours but when we got to Kiawah this site was absolutely breath taking.
