The minus - it closed at 7. For the harsh sunny days it too early, we would love to come after 6, when the hit is goes down. The rest is very good. There is a pier on the beach which gives a nice shade, so no necessity to bring or rent umbrella. No shells, easy and comfort access to... More

The Isle of Palm County Park provides great access to the beach. In the park-managed section of the beach there are life guards and public restrooms. Parking at the park is $10 on the weekends and $8 during the week.

Excellent park with great accommodations for people looking at a visit to the beach. They have changing rooms, Picnic tables (both covered and un-covered) with charcoal grills, restrooms, a volleyball court and showers. Everything is handicapped accessible, and it is a pet-friendly park with even a water-fountain just for them.

If you aren't staying on the island at a place with beach access, try this area. Parking is near the beach entrance and all you have to do is carry your stuff to the beach. If you were staying in a condo, you'd have to do the same thing. Get there early as it does get crowded, especially north of... More

Nice public beach parking is $10 for all day. You can rent 2 chairs and umbrella for $25 all day, the only downside is you have to carry the chairs and umbrella's then the beach workers will set up the your umbrella when you get on the beach. There is a food truck on site not too expensive. It's a... More

The parking lot is nicely laid out. Also the county park has restrooms as well as showers and lifeguards located at the beach. The restrooms, showers and changing rooms are located right off the beach for convenience.

The beach was perfect and we had fun all day on the naturally beautiful park beach. However, the park facilities were substandard and disgusting. Also, the entire IOP police department exists for the simple purpose of writing parking tickets and will happily strap you with a $50 parking ticket if your paid parking receipt is flipped upside down or falls... I was traveling with my 21 month old and husband. We really wanted to like this beach, it was so close to our hotel and in a great location. Walking up, we loved how they had changing stations right before you enter the beach as well as restrooms close by. When we got to the beach it was so crowded... More

Easy short drive from Charleston (about 10 min.). Pay parking, easy walk. Rental umbrellas etc. Snacks but not meals. Bathrooms, changing rooms, outdoor showers. Clean! Lifeguards! Waves but not intense. Sand & shells. Restaurants & shopping on main street to/from the big bridge. Some picnic tables in shady areas. Fun place.
