About
The Bike Doctor has 2 locations to fully help us cover the entire island. Both of our buildings are stand-alone buildings with parking lots and wheelchair access. Our South location is at 31 New Orleans Road. This location is a minute from the Sea Pines roundabout and a minute away from the Coligny Circle roundabout. Our North location is at 80 Beach City Road. This location is a minute from the Hilton Head Island Airport and 3 minutes from Hilton Head Hospital. Bike paths are visible and rideable from our front doors. Both stores are full-service bike shops offering Sales of new bikes, service of all bikes and rental of cruisers and geared bikes. Our rentals include free delivery & pickup, baskets on adult bikes and locks.

The bikes were there when we arrived so we were able to enjoy them right away. The price was one of the lowest in the area so well worth renting. Enjoy having a basket to carry needed items and for when you go to a store. Recommend this company for rentals.

We had two bikes from here for two weeks in February 2020. The prices are comparable to other bike rental places and their service was quick on a Sunday. We needed to have a pick-up from a different location than the drop-off and that was no problem. We'd rent from them again.

Reserved bikes online a couple of weeks in advance. The price was better than the other company we considered. There is a discount for multiple bikes. The bikes were delivered and locked at the resort prior to our arrival. The bikes were in decent condition and we had no issues. We would use them again.

Worst place ever. Bikes were rusted and old. Seat broke off. Called the guy he was so rude. Told me he would call back. Needed one bike switched out and suggested if you can’t get it to me early it’s okay I’ll rent one bike from somewhere else. He kept cutting off. Said he call back after he searched papers. Never heard from him. Walked outside and he came and got all the bikes. Like a child. You don’t treat customers that way

This is our second year renting from them. Easy drop off and pick up. They even accommodated our last minute change to switch resorts. Bikes are decent and price is good. No issues.

Very comfortable no frills cruiser bikes. had 1 bike with weak brakes. We let them know and they replaced the bike the very next morning (we found out in the afternoon). One bike was a little too big and they replaced that too. the back kid carrier worked great for my 4 year old. Was still easy to bike. Liked having the baskets on the handle bars. it made it convenient to shoot on over to the grocery store for a few small items, and then ride back with them in the basket.

We have rented bikes many times at various places in HHI and haven't found one to necessitate our repeat yearly business until now... Friendly and easy reservation, bikes waiting for us on arrival to villa, great condition of bikes. But, here's what sets them apart from all others... Unfortunately we had two of our bikes stolen together early into our vacation week while at a family members rental. I was sick about it. When I went to the store and discussed the situation with James, he totally put my mind at ease. The first thing he said was, "Well let's get those bikes replaced right away for you." And, "Don't let this ruin your vacation." I was the one who inquired about replacement costs-but only after a wait period he says-on the chance the bikes are recovered. He then had someone deliver 2 additional bikes promptly. I find it hard to believe any other bike rental would even come close to this. WOW!

We rented three adult bikes for the week of October 1-9. Due to Hurricane Matthew our vacation was cut short due to the mandatory evacuation issued by the South Carolina Governor, Nikki Haley for Wednesday, October 5th, 2016. I called The Bike Doctor to inform them that we were evacuating on Tuesday and they could pick the bikes up on Tuesday. I asked for a refund for the days not used and was told they do not offer refunds for manadatory evacuations. He even said people are going to lose a lot of money by evacuating their guest! Our vacation rental company credited our days lost....because it is the right thing to do.

Rented from this company bikes for the week. Lady on the phone was very easy to talk with to get my order and my sis's order at the same time. Payment was done over the phone and bikes were delivered fairly quickly. We had a great time riding the bikes!!! They have helmets for the kiddos and free locks that were easy to use. Very pleasant experience!

We ordered two bikes for a week and called because we had a coupon with our Spinnaker resort. The bikes were delivered the same day and were in excellent condition and the picked them up a week later. So easy!

Do you straight rims

Yes we do straighten bicycle rims to a certain extent. We can not fix all rims however, you would have to bring the rim in to either of our Hilton Head Island locations for our techs to evaluate to see if the rim is too far gone.

We plan on renting bikes while in HHI but I was wondering if it is worth bringing my road bike also? I also heard that you have a group ride twice per week. Could you tell me more about that?

I do not recommend the bike doctor Hilton Head. My experience with this business was terrible, because they the owner, James Bradford, did not honor his agreement with me. There are a lot of places in Hilton Head to buyor rent a bike. I’ve heard good things about the Bike Link

Yes the cruiser bikes are allowed on the hard pack sand. Please do not ride the bikes through tidal pools as it tends to ruin the bikes quality.
