Daufuskie Island Guided History Tour from Hilton Head with Ferry Transportation

116 reviews
Remote Daufuskie Island is accessible only by boat and remains largely undeveloped, despite its fame as the setting of Pat Conroy’s novel “The Water is Wide.” A guided tour makes the trip a cinch—this package includes round-trip ferry tickets, plus transportation between island attractions such as the First African Baptist Church and Mary Fields School, all visited with the benefit of commentary from your guide.

Got an opportunity to stay and play the Harbour Town golf course. Rented a condo across from the club house facing hole 1 going out and home 9 coming in. Great opportunity to watch the operation from a distance and got to play on my 60th birthday. TJ was our forecaddie and he was an awesome addition to the days golf. He kept us moving at a comfortable pace and his yardage and reads were on point. Griff the starter gave us the ground rules and welcomed us to this hallowed ground. Super friendly staff, one and all. My swing failed me for 8 holes but I striped my tee shot on 9 and got my first par. My scoring on the back 9 improved as I got my swing back and was just a few over par. I enjoyed all the course had to offer. All in all a great day, used the same golf ball for 18 holes, and have some awesome pictures and memories for this birthday round. It’s not a course for the meek, a round will damage your wallet, but am so glad we got to enjoy this course for this special birthday.

The clubhouse and staff are first class. The course is immaculate considering all the play. Greens were slow today due to over-seeding just starting to grow. Need to listen and attempt to place the ball where your caddie tells you. Eric our fore caddie was excellent. Able to finish our round in 41/2 hours. It is expensive but an experience. This reduces my rating from a 5 to a 4.

My husband and I played this course a couple of weeks ago and had a great round. We were paired with a single who was great. Huge shoutout to our favorite New York caddie Kevin for giving great advice, keeping us smiling, and projecting his love of the course on us. Great pace of play and the course was in great shape. We will be back.

Has hosted a PGA Tour event for countless years. Excellent course with what are said to be the smallest greens played by the Tour - practice your chipping beforehand! Excellent condition. Greens true with minimal break throughout. Not overly tight. Great clubhouse and Proshop. Staff excellent. Decent practice facilities. Was my favorite Hilton Head course until seeing Atlantic Dunes.

I was not expecting the toll road ($1.25) to get there or the $9 fee to enter Sea Pines Resort. The Resort is in great shape and top notch service. A fore caddy is mandatory also for $30 also. . (Caroline was great) I was expecting more from the course, based off of watching it on TV. The last hole is great and very scenic. It was a bucket list course but $250 is excessive for one round of golf. Glad I did it.
