About
Located in the heart of Hilton Head Island, the award-winning regional Arts Center of Coastal Carolina is a showcase for professional performing and visual arts, as well as cultural festivals and educational outreach. Each year we produce five musicals or plays, from concept to curtain call, featuring outstanding direction, superb production design and talented performers. We host visiting performers, world-class musicians, vocalists, artists, dancers, comedians and more. Our facilities include a 349-seat main stage house and a smaller black box venue for youth and experimental theater. We are also home to the Art League of Hilton Head and Is. School Council for the Arts. Proudly a Kennedy Center partner, we are a center of learning, featuring year-round workshops for all ages, field trips and summer camps. And we are an arts community, taking our offerings to the world as we invite the world to us. We hope to welcome you soon!

This is an important and must see event.

I have always enjoyed performances at the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, but rarely have I been as enthralled as I was with last night’s performance of “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time.”

The lead role of Christopher was more genuine than one can imagine. The entire audience was Spellbound. At several times during the play the theatre was eerily and deathly silent.

As Christopher, actor Mariah Lotz, poured all they had into this role. Their energy permeated the stage and the entire cast was inspired.

Director Whitaker Gannon has an important message and delivered it beautifully.

We had a girl’s trip and the Hilton Head’s Chamber of Commerce suggested we go see Kinky Boots at the Art Center. It was a great Broadway Musical. They did an excellent job with the singing and dancing. It was a small theater, so you felt like you were a part of the cast.

A totally unexpected outstanding live theater very conveniently located on Hilton Head. Located in a small but excellent facility, had no expectation of being able to see exceptional live theater during a visit to Hilton Head. The show that we saw was terrific. A great and easy evening out which is highly recommended.

We saw A Chorus Line at the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina and it was a great evening! Unsure beforehand of the quality to expect of this production, we were quite impressed with the singing, dancing and choreography which certainly rivaled that of a Broadway production. Congratulations to the cast members for a job well done!

We saw Murder on the Orient Express at this theater and really enjoyed the experience. The production was well performed and the theater was comfortable. A special treat while vacationing at Hilton Head.

Mary Poppins is $49.00 for Adults and $35.00 for children. So, for my 6 year old and me to see a matinee is $84.00! That is outrageous! Too bad we won't be able to see it my little one was so looking forward to it.

We understand that tickets to a professional show are expensive, which can be frustrating, and we are so appreciative that you want your daughter to see Mary Poppins. Unfortunately, the costs of producing live theater are high, and this production includes professional actors and dancers, a professional director and choreographer (who appeared in the Broadway production of Mary Poppins), as well as professional designers (costumes, sets, lighting) and staff to run the show. The quality of the show will rival Broadway plays, which can cost upwards of $150 per ticket. We do our best to keep ticket prices as low as we can through fundraising and private donations, however we have to price the shows in keeping with the production quality. We also offer the preview performances at a discount (Dec. 9-10) and have offered Black Friday and Cyber Monday special savings as well. Thank you so much for your interest.

Inherit the Wind has been an all time favorite movie of mine since I saw it first probably 50+ years ago. I was thrilled when I saw it was going to be in Hilton Head when one of my sisters-in-law would be in town and thought she might enjoy it. Well she did and so did my wife and her twin. The theater is a little smaller than I expected and the seats kind of tight, but not totally uncomfortable. The parking lot was near bursting so I would recommend getting there early especially if you have any disabled people with you. The cast of the play were GREAT and the story is timeless. You still have time to check out this masterpiece.

We are thrilled you enjoyed one of your favorite shows at the Arts Center. We are beyond proud of the work the cast and crew have done to bring this timeless classic to life. Visit us next for Disney and Cameron MacIntosh's "Mary Poppins!"

This a beautiful theater which seats around 350 people. It offer five or six shows per year with each show running four to six weeks or so. Most of the casts or selected form New York City area which means that they are professionals with a great deal of experiences in other similar shows on Broadway and/or elsewhere. The results are broadway like performances which are outstanding. The musicals are of particular interest to us as there is always the combination of wonderful music, singing and dancing. The performers are very talented. A most recent show was Cole Porter's "Anything Goes" which was outstanding!
We live just off Hilton Head island for seven months of the year so we are always interested in these shows and supporting such a wonderful asset for The Hilton head area. People visiting the Island should try to take advantage of this opportunity to enjoy these performances.

I saw 3 shows here and loved every one of them. The theater is very small so every seat is a winner. You will be surprised at the performances which come thru Hilton Head. We are lucky to have this venue on our little island. This is a must go!
