We paid $180 for the three of us to get a glorified water taxi ride. The captain told us to look for dolphins, which we didn't see and a few words about a fort on the Savannah River. The engine noise was so loud we...More

This was a great experience for us. We booked the 90-minute afternoon sail, but found out later that the required minimum (8 people) had not signed up. So the company scheduled us for the 2-hour sunset cruise the same day at no additional charge. We...More

We werent sure about what it meant to go shrimping but thought it might be fun after our other cruise was cancelled. It isnt a real 'hands on' experience with actual shrimping but we did learn about the nets, the process and were able to...More

The purpose of the boat ride is to visit Savannah GA from Hilton Head SC dock. Mission accomplished. We’ve been to Savannah a couple of times and I learn a little more with each visit; town was founded as a colony of the British empire...More

If you're looking for something fun, exciting, and relaxing then this is one thing you need to add to your itinerary! It was a lot colder than we expected, and we should've brought jackets/blankets, but that didn't stop us from enjoying sailing and taking in...More

We've always gone ourselves w/our kids in tow. We've parked at the visitors center and taken a trolley around (Old Savannah Tours is our favorite http://www.oldsavannahtours.com/). We usually do the On and Off tour so you can get off at a stop and walk around and then get back on when you like. It takes you all over the historic district including the riverfront. I've taken my kids on the trolley since my oldest was 2 (she's now 9) and they liked it and it was nice to be able to get off...More

Vagabond Cruise - still in business? (3 Replies)
Traveling to the island in a couple of weeks and looking to take a cruise to Savannah. Looking at Vagabond's website and all I can find is 2010 schedules and information. Are they still in business? Is there a better cruise company on the island that provides the same or similar services? Thanks.

Tammy Jane Shrimp Trawler Update (16 Replies)
The Tammy Jane was recently sold to the Vagabond Cruise company out of Harbortown. While the current tour will differ somewhat from the original, it will continue to trawl for shrimp while educating its passengers about marine life and the environment in which they live. Some notable changes are the location from Hudsons Dock to Harbortown and the duration of the tour from three to two hours. The trawler's initial cruise this season will be on Tuesday, June 14th. There will be a morning...More
