This is my number one spot to not miss while in HH! I go several times while visiting. It is beautiful, nicely laid out and clean and neat. The paths are wonderful, as are the birds and alligators. Make sure you stay long enough to watch the mullets jumps repetitively out of the lake; just seemingly to have a fun time of it. Bring binoculars for the wildlife. On this trip I saw a pileated woodpecker, a white-eyed vireo and an Eastern towhee. Look for Charlie, the smaller alligator near the dock and then for George, the more elusive big guy at the opposite end. Take a book to read and enjoy the large swings and the view.

Wonderful park & lake with a purpose. This wetland area with a man made lake & thoughtfully chosen foliage serves to filter the storm water runoff. The park is so beautiful & my favorite of the parks/preserves we visited. The wide paved leisure loop pathway is .85 miles around the lake. Many birds, alligators & turtles call this place home. The foliage is beautiful & provides some nice shading. There are several park benches around the lake and a dock. Our favorite spot was the swinging bench overlooking the lake. There are several covered picnic bench areas, a small playground & well kept restroom facilities. We arrived by way of the dedicated bike trail to the park on a Monday morning & the place was fairly quiet. We saw people walking for exercise, fishing & families enjoying the playground. The only downside is it borders a busy highway.

Less than a mile hike on a paved path around a stunning small lake. Apparently there are alligators present, but I did not encounter any on my few times around the lake. Great picnic shelters and playground for the kids.

I went there to try the fishing, as there are few local sites that have access for fishing from a pier or land. I was successful in catching about a 15 inch bass, 15 inch crappies (largest I have ever caught) and several hand sized bluegills. All were caught from the bank around the pond, none from the pier. The park was very clean, paved walking trail was nice; seeing the birds, alligators, and turtles also added to the experience.

This is a very nice, clean, and well maintained park. So much of Hilton Head Island revolves around salt water, it was nice to visit and walk the .85 mile loop around the lake. We saw a wide variety of birds and four of the alligators. We were both glad we took the time to visit the park.

I was dying to catch some bass during my Hilton Head visit. I arrived just before sunup and fished all the way around the pond/lake for probably 4 hrs.
It's a beautiful spot. Walkers and joggers were always on the path and I was the only one fishing. It was fairly cool so the gators started cruising the lake and sunning once the sun was out for a bit. Largest I saw was probably 6-7'.
The shore is very accessible for casting. I was casting a jig with a rootbeer twin tailed grub. I had brought a lightweight breakdown spinning rig. I found I had to really crank down the drag to set the hook.
I caught bass of 1.5, 2 and 3lbs and missed a few more.
It's a really peaceful spot with lots of birds, gators and squirrels. Highly recommend.

Pretty, clean, safe park with a paved walking path, bathroom facilities and play area for kids. There is a large pond with a dock that people fish on. Beware, there are alligators in the pond. We saw 4 as we walked around the pond. We came here twice during our 5 day stay. The alligator viewing was the best of all the places we went.

I have limited walking ability. The .85 miles around the lake was a relaxed level walk with plenty of benches and shade to rest. We saw alligators ,turtles, birds and squirrels. The family I had a great time there is even picnic areas and playgrounds for little ones. Bathrooms and vending machines on grounds. The whole walk around the park is wheelchair accessible! A great diamond in the rough!!

We take our boys to fish here every year and every year the gators run us off. This year they seemed even more curious and less afraid of us, The park is well maintained and there are always people walking and kids playing. Clean bathrooms and easy to get to.

This park is a little gem, got to see several cardinals and beautiful birds.Along the walk there were pretty flowers and seen several alligators.
Will come back again, next time, maybe not with my small dog, it seems the gator danger could be scary!
