Daufuskie Island Guided History Tour from Hilton Head with Ferry Transportation

106 reviews
Remote Daufuskie Island is accessible only by boat and remains largely undeveloped, despite its fame as the setting of Pat Conroy’s novel “The Water is Wide.” A guided tour makes the trip a cinch—this package includes round-trip ferry tickets, plus transportation between island attractions such as the First African Baptist Church and Mary Fields School, all visited with the benefit of commentary from your guide.
$95.00 per adult

The lady that signed us in was really rude and talked to me as if I was a child (I’m assuming it’s the owner who is in her 60’s). We payed the $22 (me and my two toddlers) with only one hour to play (bad choice on my part) while my husband took the van to get a tire patch. When he did arrive there was 15 minutes before closing and they still made him pay the $8 to go in and get us! The play areas are fine, my daughter liked the shopping area a lot and the craft table and my son liked the upstairs. The “baby gate” upstairs will not lock, so if you have a one year old, you need to make sure they don’t go near it and fall down the many steps. I will not be returning because of the rudeness of the employee/owner and do not support businesses with low respect for their customers.

Took the visiting grandkids here for about 90 minutes. Boys aged 2 (almost 3) and 9. They both were enthralled with the number of and type of activities available. Initially a bit overwhelmed with so many choices, they eventually were able to sustain their attention to focus on one activity at a time. Clearly there is something interesting for all preschoolers and elementary aged children. I highly recommend The Sandbox and don’t necessarily wait for a rainy day!

So it's a rainy Saturday and I have my 2 grandkids, boy- 8, girl-5, in a small apartment. What to do? A quick Google search and I find 2 nearby Sandbox locations. I show the kids photos on the website and they're excited to go. Perfect choice! It's a 2 story playroom! Costumes, tea sets, play food and money, a real airplane cockpit; blocks, books, stuffed toys, arts and crafts, a pirate ship -everything to keep kids happily amused for at least 2 hours. Place is clean, staff is lovely, cost is reasonable. There are family bathrooms with changing stations, and even snacks for sale. Available for parties too. We visited the Hilton Head location. Kids loved it and would love to go back!

Perfect for my 2 & 4 year olds on a rainy day. There’s a craft area, flight simulator, grocery store, library and more. Go early to ensure you can get in.
