We recently had a private birthday party for a 6 yo and her buddies. It was the BEST! They were always willing to answer all our questions prior to and during the event. They had the craft room set up with table cloths, and paper products. We brought in just a couple of our own theme decorations and our food and beverages. While setting up the tables, the children and parents roamed the entire museum until ready for the kids to eat. The staff were present for assistance whenever we needed something but they were not hovering. They assisted us in putting up a piñata out on the back porch area and helped clean up. It was a perfect venue for a party, but the staff made it a great experience. I had met with the lady who was in charge that day (2/6/22) at previous visits and she is to be commended. Wish I had gotten her name. I will the next time we go. Thank you Sandbox!

Fantastic kids museum. Interactive fun that burns a couple of hours with small kids. It was $10 a piece to go in, so with 2 parents and a 7 year old, I wouldn't spend $30 again...but overall it was very nice. They should only charge $5 for a parent considering the parents are just sitting around watching their kids.

We came here while waiting to check into our beach house which worked out well because the kids enjoyed the museum for about two hours. It’s not huge but it has nice stuff. Currently, you have to reserve a time block ahead of time. The blocks were three hours long. So know that before you go.

We went with our 3 year old and was very disappointed with the size of the museum. Online the description sounds as if it is large and fun for kids. Most of the activities seemed to be dirty and some did not function at all. We also have a 8 month old and were told at the door that strollers are not allowed due to some supposed fire code. I looked for state fire code stating this but was unable to find it. Pretty sure this is a Hilton Head fire department rule. Not sure what they do with kids in wheelchairs. This was not mentioned on their website at all even though we booked online and told them we had an infant under a year old. Fortunately we had a wearable baby carrier in the car but this should be told upfront.

Staff member named Deb also told us that our 3 year old could not play in the sand table that had a holographic projector on it saying it was not meant to play with. If that is the case it should either not be in a children’s INTERACTIVE museum or should be made of plastic so it can’t be changed.

We came to this museum on a rainy day during our spring break vacation in Hilton Head. We go to children's museums very regularly during vacations (Phoenix, Baltimore, Philly, NYC, etc) so our kids (ages 5 and 3) were excited to visit this one. The staff greeting us were very friendly and gave a good overview of the facilities and activities. The space felt very crowded with families and the activities were nothing new or exciting. Playing with a tiny play kitchen was disappointing as compared to the huge grocery store experience in the Please Touch Museum in Philly. Our girls got bored after about 1.5 hrs and we went to the free park behind the museum when the sun came out. There were no staff leading any activities like other children's museums either. Would not recommend for kids above the age of 5.

The lady that signed us in was really rude and talked to me as if I was a child (I’m assuming it’s the owner who is in her 60’s). We payed the $22 (me and my two toddlers) with only one hour to play (bad choice on my part) while my husband took the van to get a tire patch. When he did arrive there was 15 minutes before closing and they still made him pay the $8 to go in and get us!
The play areas are fine, my daughter liked the shopping area a lot and the craft table and my son liked the upstairs. The “baby gate” upstairs will not lock, so if you have a one year old, you need to make sure they don’t go near it and fall down the many steps.
I will not be returning because of the rudeness of the employee/owner and do not support businesses with low respect for their customers.

Wow. They build a brand new building but didn't update or replace most of the toys so much is still broken and in need of replacement. While the concept is good, the actual execution is severely lacking. I would also not that though the "limit" the number of people per time slot their covid procedures do not go beyond that which was disappointing to see. I would not recommend this for kids over 3 or 4 either. My son did love the plane but one screen didn't work and he was disappointed that the system kept timing out. I was disappointed to see how dirty the equipment was as well.

Wish I had read reviews before wasting the money. Museum was much smaller than it sounds online and art room was closed for summer camp. Kids were bored in 30 minutes. Nothing like marbles in Raleigh or please touch. Free park behind the museum was much more fun.

We’ve been to A LOT of children’s museum and I would say this was our least favorite. It’s certainly a fine place to pass a couple hours once if it’s raining outside, but I would not go out of my way to go back. The museum is very small (so easily ‘crowded’ when just a few families are there) and has your standard pretend play toys (many old/dated): mini grocery store, race car section, pretend castle, and small art room. The staff were nice and welcoming.

Lots of fun and interactive things for the children to do. Had to make a reservation, for a set 3 hours, but there were a limited amount of people in, so no overcrowding. :) The kids loved it. We stayed yhe whole time, and they wanted to go back.
