This is the 2nd time we have done a Sunset Dolphin Tour on one of Captain Freddie Wards boats through Island Watersports. Can’t imagine a more fun energetic knowledgeable person than Mr. Ward. He has such charisma & personality, so he really brings the history to life. He is so excited himself each time that he really puts his heart & sole into the tour and goes out of his way/over & above. What is also amazing is he knows exactly where to go & when. Therefore, you will see things right in front of our eyes that you otherwise only see on a screen.
Are you kidding me, the dolphins were popping out of the water all around us once again like the last time when we went with a group of friends. One of the things in life that most excites our daughter is Dolphins (we took her to swim w/ them 19 years ago for her 10th birthday). Although she was excited before we went out a couple days ago, & knew it would be good, she said it was 3 times more amazing than what she had imagined it would be like. She said there was much more activity during the tour than she thought there would be. One literally surfaced and went right under the front of the boat. A cute Dolphin “family of 4” w/ 2 babies schooled around bobbing up & down nearly the entire time in one area. Lots of others Dolphins within feet of us at times.
Go for it. I believe you will feel you get more than your money’s worth and there is also a lot of history of the area that Freddie shared with us. Memories of a lifetime. I’ll see if I can post some video or at least pictures on this post.

I had never rented a boat before. I was amazed at the attention the team here gave to insure we were comfortable and had a great experience. When we spoke to Mia on the phone, she asked many questions to check my level experience boating. Then Trey and his brother went over the pontoon boat and helped us take off, then return to the slip to ensure a smooth transition. Even though I have had a pontoon many years, it was refreshing to know that they put this type of effort into the experience. The 9 of us (3 couples, 2 teens and a 1yr old) on our outing would highly recommend anyone to use their services.

Our family of 2 adults and 2 kids (10 and 8) had a blast. Chase was a fun guide who went out of his way to make the kids feel like stars and helped them also feel safe. Tour has max of 6 spots and our family of 4 were the only ones on it. Tour leaves from South Beach Marina in Sea Pines. Chase took us around the key sites, explaining and orienting and patiently got us to where we could see dolphins and kept us amused in between. He helped us on and off the boat at the vanishing Island ( sandbar). Boat ride itself was fun and comfortable. Sandbar was great with TONS of starfish and Chase was ready to pick us up when we were walking back to the spot. Really a great trip that was quite reasonably priced. Note the available times vary day to day because can only be done at low tide to visit the sandbar. Highly recommend!

While it was fun to get out on the water, the sunset cruise was the opposite of what we expected. The boat was clean and the crew was perfectly nice, but the catamaran never really went anywhere. We left the marina and headed into the sound only to do circles and zig zag in a very small area (see attached image for where we were confined to highlighted in red). I thought we might cruise past the lighthouse, head to Tybee Island or at least check out some of the homes on the beach at Daufuskie but instead we never left a small patch of water off of South Beach. Next time we will view the sunset from the beach, the view is the same and he price is a lot better!

We had an excellent cruise on the Salty Cat. It was a beautiful evening to be on the water. The complementary drinks were enjoyed by all. This cruise is a great opportunity to get out on the water and sailing, IMHO, is the best way to do it. Pro tip: make sure you get out on the bow area’s cross desk trampoline to really get the sailing experience.

We had a kayaking group of nine with ages ranging from 14 to 50s. Our tour guide, Trey, was so friendly and helpful. It was a peaceful and fun experience for everyone. We plan to go back next year and will be using Island Water Sports again.

We had an awesome experience with Sean on our dolphin tour on August 10, 2020. The tour was an intimate experience b/c it was just my family and another family of four. Sean was personable, funny, and quite knowledgeable regarding dolphin behavior. I lost count of how many dolphins we saw, it was an amazing experience for my 82 yr. old mother and sons, 19 and 22. I was impressed that H2O sports was willing to reschedule or refund due to weather, as our initial tour was suppose to be Sunday. That option alone is worth booking with H2O sports.

After signing the WAIVER that blames you for any collisions, drowning , injuries caused through actions of the boat operator, my young nephew broke his leg and had to go to the hospital when the boat towed by the company's Wave Runner flipped. He also bashed his head pretty good. Note to all - please consider other activities, and do not go on these bouncing inflatable death traps unless you are willing to accept all the risks. Turns out injuries are pretty common, and your recourse is likely nil ...DANGEROUS!

We enjoyed the sunset cruise on the Salty Cat. The catamaran is beautiful and comfortable. The two hour cruise was just the right amount of time. Check-in was easy and the captain and first mate were friendly and answered any questions.

We are Hilton Head regulars who came down with young children this year. The 1.5 nature cruise and dolphin experience was perfect for the kids and adults. Captain Delaney is very knowledgeable of the area. Highly recommend taking this tour.
