Thoroughly enjoyed playing Saving Santa - clever puzzles and a whimsical storyline, perfect for the holidays. Anderson was an excellent game master. Not only was he personable and attentive, he struck the perfect balance between letting us solve challenges and being ready to provide a hint when we asked. He also asked some great questions early on about our experience with escape rooms, and we appreciated that he took the time at the end to share his experiences. We loved being able to learn about the other Trapped Upstate escape rooms as well, and look forward to playing those soon!

A solid 4.5 stars!
If I never went to Escape City in Buffalo NY, I probably would’ve rated this a 5, but Escape City still holds that spot. It was a great experience… lots of puzzles. We loved that just when we thought we were gonna be in the same room, another one opened. All the puzzles worked and were legit. Complete with trap doors and contraptions! Great escape room!

I don’t normally take the time to write reviews, but this time I felt compelled, mostly because our assistant Carter was fantastic. He was courteous and knowledgeable, but it was his enthusiasm for his work that really stuck with us. It made the experience that much better.
I’ll also add that this was our first time to Trapped in the Upstate, and we really enjoyed it. The establishment is clean and welcoming, and our escape room, Voodoo Shack, was well-designed with some fun surprises that had us talking long after we left.

We've done a few of their rooms and the puzzles and stories are so well put together and just overall a great experience the whole family can enjoy. The Illusionist is probably my favorite room even though all their rooms are great. Enjoy!

Amazing experience at Trapped in the Upstate! We are new to the area and wanted something fun to do for date night this was perfect! I am huge on murder mystery movies, and so you think all those movies will help with solving these fun, puzzles, tricks, and whodunit rooms. Maybe or not... This is why you need to book a reservation and check out this place! Have an open mind, bring your team skills, quick thinking, and get ready to play. The owners are so great, and they make you feel so welcomed. The entire experience was fantastic and we highly recommend it.

Our group of three completed the Voodoo Shack room with a few minutes to spare! The room had an interesting aesthetic and the puzzles were challenging but fair. Our game master Anderson also did a fantastic job and provided very good explanations and hints! We will most certainly be back to try the other rooms!

Awsome experience! We had SO much fun we did it two days in a row. Illusionists room and lizzy borden room. Challenging clues, great decor and excellent, friendly helpful staff. I highly recommend Trapped in the Upstate.

We tried Robert’s Relic today at Trapped in the Upstate, and had the best time. This place is awesome. The hosts/game masters are fantastic and they design a really fun room. It was great for our whole family, ages 6-43! We can’t wait to go back and try the rest of their rooms when they open up!

We have done the lizzy room and voodoo room at this location. Both rooms have been difficult but we were able to finish with seconds left. I think they have more challenging rooms and everything is kept in great condition. Staff is always awesome as well.

We had an amazing time! I am a teacher and took my small group of gifted and talented students. They were very accommodating for my group. The opened up at a special time for us so that we could go during school hours. We did the Master of Illusion room, which was great and very age appropriate for my students. We had the best time solving the puzzles. The room was decorated and put together very well and the staff was very friendly. I will be back again!
