My wife and I spent a long weekend here, and we absolutely LOVED it. It has a wonderful laid-back small-town atmosphere with great shops and friendly people. We tried as many restaurants and ice-cream shops as we could. Get away from the beach hustle for a while. Absolutely fabulous.

Even the walk from the street to the river is attractive and we'll maintained. Great view of the many boats, plenty of eateries and two museums. Even some interesting art work in the yards facing the walk.

The sun was shining and this was a beautiful walk enjoying the boats and the history of Georgetown. We enjoyed coffee and cake from the Indigo bakery as we sat on the boardwalk. There were several restaurants along the way and small shops to browse. A very nice afternoon visit from Surfside beach.

Quaint historic town with very good restaurants, antique shops, and many historic buildings. You must check out the museum on the waterfront. It’s even free admission. Of course the size of this town is much smaller than Charleston, but the food and shopping are just the right size for a day trip from myrtle beach.

Enjoyed walking on the harbor walk and liked all the shops and restaurants are on harbor side and front street side, also several boats lined up to give tours in the beautiful waterway, safe and easily accessible in mornings through dark, parking close by. Area was clean, saw the small alligator swimming around a few times, was surprised that most shops, museums and especially restaurants are closed Sunday's, limited places open so that's not good for visitors. Would like a walk way that's extended further either way through town but we walked on several nice streets behind front street and that's a nice area as well. Well kept town and will definitely be back to visit again! Thank you!

Georgetown Is such a beautiful small coastal town & walking down the harborwalk, the views are lovely! Sailboats anchored...gulls, pelicans & eagles floating on the sea breezes...wonderful restaurants all up & down the street...smiling friendly people everywhere. Try it! You'll love it!

Georgetown is the third oldest city in South Carolina. It is by far the best of the three. It is a seaport, and the Harborwalk allows you to see the entire water front of the down town area. Great places to eat and shop as well as a first rate museum.

It's a very short harborwalk and it's best to go on a still day. If the wind is blowing in your direction you will smell the pulp mill (horrible). Plus, you always have to look at the ugly steel mill and pulp mill. If you didn't have those two eyesores (and nosesore) right there the walk would be beautiful. There are restaurants, shops, and private residences along the harborwork and beautiful views of the water and the old town clock from the 1800s.

This is a hidden gem, such a nice place to walk around and get something to eat. Its nice to look at all the boats. We even got to see a gator in the water. I highly recommend the harborwalk.

Enjoyed a walk around the Harbor Walk. Warning, don't feed the alligators! Beautiful boats, marina, restaurants, specialty shops, museums, tour offerings, and photo opportunities.

I will be vacationing in Myrtle Beach in Oct and was thinking about taking a day to drive down to Georgetown. Are there very many shops and things open in October?

Most shops and restaurants are open year round. Georgetown harbor is historic and quite charming in it's "small town way". The harbor walk is scenic and working shrimping boats line the docks. The restaurants are very good - try the River Room. The Prince George Episcopal church has fascinating pre-revolutionary and civil war history.
