I only had about half a day in Georgetown, so the woman at the visitor's center recommended that I take this tour. The tour lasts about an hour and takes you around the historic district, stopping at different sites along the way. Our guide seemed new but still very knowledgeable, although, being a historian, I did catch a few minor errors. The vehicle is open to the air, so it was rather hot in late July when I went. But, it was still better than walking around myself! I would definitely recommend it if you are short on time.

This tour was tremendously informative! Jan is a fabulous storyteller and we thoroughly enjoyed her tour. While so much of the South and greater Georgetown area has so much history, Jan did an amazing job at combining hyper local historical facts (like some superhero women and a mysterious disappearance), along with some greater, Southern cultural history that applies to the entire region. Jan was nice and we felt safe as she drove the trolley through the old town Georgetown area. We've lived in Horry County for nearly two years now and have visited the Georgetown waterfront plenty of times, but now it has a whole new meaning with all this historical context. Would highly recommend for visitors or locals who are looking to learn more about the historical significance of the area. The tour is great for families of all ages - but us history buffs with college-aged kids and older especially loved it! We went on a warm summer afternoon/evening. The trolley is covered, but would definitely recommend sunscreen, sunglasses, water, and loose-fitting clothes for the ride.

This was an amazing tour. Over an hour long, it was fun to ride on an open air tram hitched to a jeep. Only downside was it was a cold April day, but blankets were provided. Dress for the weather. Jan, our driver and guide was so knowledgeable.

My friend and I wanted to learn more about Georgetown, SC so we took this trip. We got to see lots of historic homes and learned a ton. Our guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. You can tell she loves the town and the history. Great value. $15 for the tour which was about an hour.
