I had a few relatives and friends coming into town and scheduled a tour with Cap'n Rod for a shelling and lighthouse tour. Cap'n Rod was a wealth of historical information and had a wonderful sense of humor. Although we were unable to find any special shells, we had a fantastic time and would definitely go again. Do wear sunscreen... More

This trip is well worth the money and the drive. Captain Rod is very knowledgeable about the history of the area and a great story teller. It tells the history of the area on the boat ride to seashell island. When you get to the island you have plenty of time to search the beach for shells and driftwood. I... More

Our family had a wonderful time with Capt. Rod on his sea shell tour. He told us so much history about the land and people of this area while we went out to the beach where we hunted for shells. Our girls found tons of very large shells it was a beautiful beach! We will definitely go again the next... More

Beautiful scenery and a nice walk on the beach looking for seashells. Bring a bucket or bags to collect great seashells. There is a bathroom on board, not to worry of the length of the trip.

We took Cap'n Rod's shell island tour and loved every minute of it. Cap'n Rod offers a great narration during the tour that gives historical information about the area and makes the journey fun. Boat trip was very comfortable, even though it was incredibly hot in town. The island is beautiful and peaceful, although we didn't find as many unique... More

We took the plantation tour and it was really nice. Our boat captain was funny and made us feel like we were family instead of just tourists. The tour of the plantation was really nice also.

We did the Rover last year so this year tried Cap'n Rod's. They are both good but his is slightly better and here's why. First, Cap'n Rod himself, very knowledgable about the area and also very funny. Second, bigger boat, more comfortable and more stable in choppy water. Wildlife viewing is a crapshoot, we saw nothing this year or last... More
