Cap'n Rod was a fantastic host to this wonderful tour. We found many shells, saw an alligator, saw several bald eagles, and learned so much about the Georgetown area. We were coming from North Myrtle Beach so it was a little over an hour away but it was so worth the trip and a nice break from the tourist traps... More

Cap'n Rod is a first rate tour guide. I really enjoyed the boat ride, and Cap'n Rod's narrative on the history of the sites we saw on this tour.

My husband and I had read prior reviews before booking our tour. Although we didn't get a lot of shells we got more than that in knowledge and fun ! We traveled with hosts / Doug and Chris ... both fantastic guys ! The trip wasn't boring at all ... learned many remarkable things about the area and the people... More

Even if the weather was not great on our shelling tour, Capt Rod made it fun. We were not prepared for the experience but still had a good time. If you go where swim wear and water socks so you can get in the water to get the big shells. We will definitely do it again.

An excellent storyteller Captain along with the boat ride was serene. Good stories, and lovely surroundings. Can't get better than that.

Absolutely one of my most favorite things I have ever done in thirty years plus while vacationing in Myrtle beach....we also did the Shell Island tour...we enjoyed so much we did it twice. Captain Rod is one of the most genuine and nicest man you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. His stories not only entertain, but you come... More

Highlight of our vacation. Lots of great history and stories with a wonderful time collecting shells on a secluded beach. Tips we learned: bring bug spray and carry it with you while collecting shells to re spray after getting wet, wear swimsuit or clothes you can get wet up to your waist (best shells are in the water), buy your... Rod certainly knows his stuff! Also, you will see some wildlife, but no guarantee what kind. Leaves from the downtown harbor walk area. Nice way to spend a few hours.

Going on Captains Rod's tour is like taking a course in history. He is wonderful with his details of the plantations in the area, the history, ownership and what will be coming to the area in terms of development. His knowledge of the area is simply incredible. Don't miss it, worth every penny. Alma Martinez

We went on the plantation boat ride. Loved the ability to cruise inland waterways that I could not access otherwise. But what makes this special is Captain Rod's storytelling. He would be an entertainment on land, even without the alligators, the osprey nests and eagles.
