About
Our goal is to educate and pass on the experience of surfing. Whether you are a beginner or advanced we teach the fundamentals and techniques that are essential in improving. Most importantly our objective is to have fun while enjoying all that the ocean provides. There is no better feeling than gliding across a wave and we can't wait to share that experience with you!

We were having trouble deciding what our favorite thing about our trip was, but after our surfing lesson we all agreed that it topped the list. Ellison was so friendly and made us all feel super comfortable as we got our surf legs. Will recommend them to family and friends who come to Folly Beach.

Thomas and Bryant Ellison spent three hours over three days with my kids (12 and 10) for their very first surf lessons. We could not have picked two better instructors. Both of them were patient and encouraging for first time surfers and had both kids up on the boards and riding the waves by the end of the first 30 mins. They paced the lessons well thorough several drifts drown the beach. The brothers were careful to pick lesson times when the wave action was less demanding for beginners. We hope to have them as surf instructors again. I highly recommend them.

We rented a house by the washout with two other families we have known since college, before any of us were married. After watching surfers for two days (none of us have ever surfed) we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, by that time Ellison and Bryant could only make it Friday morning, the day before checkout.
What a blast. A mix of old guys, young kids and teens - 9 of us - trying it out for the first time.
Ellison and Bryant took care of everything - bringing it all to us at our rental. Dry land training followed by nearly an hour of "surfing". The guys were patient and supportive and we all gut up - eventually - even if only fleetingly, for some.
Only regret is not doing this earlier in the week.

This was the first time we have ever rented a house on Folly Beach. We did this with my niece and nephew sisiter inlaw and my nephews mother. Me and my husband have been to Charleston many times and have always stayed in our camper or a motel over on Mt. Pleasant . ( which we love by the way) But after my niece had mentioned this we were game to go and glad we did.
We just spent a week at Folly beach and stayed in a rental house right on the beach and they called it the washout area. We went sightseeing a lot into Charleston and about . but was so fabulous to get up every morning and catch the sunrise and watch surfers and just the ocean itself. very relaxing when we stayed still. great weather in the 80s and I was kind of shocked to get such great weather in the end of march. I would recommend this rental house to anyone.

We were so exited to take out first surfing lesson and so glad we picked the right group to work with.
We stayed at Folly Beach and met Ellison and his brother Brian for a morning lesson and the conditions couldn't be more perfect. I was concerned if waves would be strong for my daughter but it was mild but good enough for us to get up and catch our first waves. We got down to business and hit the waters in maybe 10 minutes and took us 3 adults a few tries but my daughter got up right away! She loved it and we loved how easy going and down to earth the brothers were. Thanks for such a great first experience!

In one hour we went from no experience at all to riding waves.. All of us! Even the "bigger" guys in the group were able to get up and ride with excellent and sound advice from our awesome leaders! The Ellison brothers are the best... We will do surf lessons with them every time we come to Folly Beach from now on!

My husband and I got away for a few days last week and all I wanted to do was attempt to surf. We picked Folly Beach for that one reason. After googling and reading reviews I made a reservation with the Thomas Brothers, we are more than happy that we did. First day of surfing my husband and I were with Bryant for lessons and second day with Ellison. We were very pleased with the quality of lessons, personable guys and made you feel so comfortable and at ease, which made it all the more enjoyable. Thanks again guys, the entire family will be back next time, thanks to you two!

Terrific experience. Four friends and I came down from DC for a long weekend, and Ellison worked with us and around our schedule. They're terrific to work with and I would highly recommend them.

My 3 kids (12, 10, and 8) took surfing lessons with Ellison and Bryant at Folly Beach last summer and they had a great time! It was a perfect experience for beginners - they even supplied the boards. They showed up on time and were very patient and enthusiastic with the kids. All 3 kids were up and riding the waves in no time and can't wait for this summer to go back for more lessons ;)

I took a surf lessons from a few different instructors this summer. I would highly recommend these guys (Ellison was my instructor). He spent a lot of one-on-one time with me, helping me get the basics down and then some.
