More crowded. Parking everywhere and many access points, which was nice. It was clean and well kept. Some decent shell hunting. Not our favorite beach but a nice beach if you're close.

We went the weekend before Labor Day. It was busy, but not complete chaos. We were able to find some quiet spots. The lighthouse is DEFINITELY worth the short walk. There are some old graffiti-ed buildings that make for great photos. once you get to the beach, it's a pretty quiet place. Much less people-traffic than the rest of the... More

A very quiet place to spend the day with your family, surf, sand and no crowds! There are bathrooms and showers. It does cost $10 for parking but well worth it so you aren't at a crowded beach. There was even a Popsicle stand.

My fiance and I are always drawn to beaches. We took a stroll shortly after arriving to our destination. It was very clean and uncrowded... Just like we like it. Gorgeous views. Only downside is the mosquitoes.

I can't ever say enough! This beach is by far the best beach I've been to in the states. It is so clean, comfortable, AND NOT touristy! :) Talk about perfect.

Nice beach and pier. Parking was of course hard to find and kind of expensive ($10) in some areas. We could see dolphins from the pier. The farther north you go, the fewer people you will see.

By far the best beach in the Charleston area. Why? laid back. You can surf, run with your dog, lie on the beach and do nothing…There is a light house view, a county park that is the best around, great restaurants and shopping. If staying overnight you can park a car and take a golf cart everywhere on the island.... More

I hear that there are “fancy” beaches in South Carolina, but if you are in Charleston and are looking for a clean beach with easy access and good facilities , this is a great place. We went to the county beach the first day. It had clean bathrooms and changing rooms, as well as umbrella and chair rentals–$10 each for... More

Our extended family spent a week in a beach rental just off the beach. Folly Beach is a lively little beach town that jyst puts you in a vacation mood. Very nice beach and most mornings you will see dolphins down by the lighthouse. We had lots of fun on the surf. Bert's Market has a great selection of food... More
