Bri is hands down an amazing, graceful instructor as she provides simple yet detailed instructions and has the patience of Job. Great for first timers or experienced painters. Needing break from the beach and sun I signed up for a Painting with a Buzz class. Chico Feo is a cool outdoor bar and the perfect place for beer drinking and painting. About 30 people joined in the fun and it felt like a party. I had a great time.

We were living "locally" on our Folly Beach vacation via Airbnb, stopped by Chico Feao for beer and there just happened to be a class going on (every Thursday!) so we joined in! Great teacher. So much fun!! If we lived there we we go all the time. Tons of locals there, and new comers! Good times, priced well! A must do when in town! :-)

Found Paint with a Buzz by accident while looking for things to do at Folly Beach. So glad we did. Our group contacted Bri by email to get the low down. She was very helpful and even kept in touch by text until we arrived. What a blast. No one in our group really has any artistic talent but you would have thought we were Van Gogh by our attempts. Got to paint a jellyfish. Bri was awesome. Very patient, helped when we asked, encouraged when we needed it and offered suggestions to try and make our paint blobs come to life. The outdoor "studio" was so relaxing. When back in Folly Beach will definitely go back.

I ran into Bri at the Folly Beach Farmers market when I was checking out her neat original works. It was there I learned about her paint classes and saw a few samples of the works done in these classes and I really enjoyed them for their colors and beach related content. What was also unique and attractive was the locations where she hosts her classes. Places like and outdoor garden or a staple local dive bar! So I signed up and I'm so glad we did. My friend and I ended up attending her class at her 'home' location which is a beautiful covered backyard space at a house in Folly Beach. Between the beautiful setting and the music being played, it was a very art inspiring place to paint, as well as pour back a few glasses of wine. Bri is very sweet and easy going making it a very non-intimidating environment for a beginner painter. I highly recommend attending a class of Bri's for a relaxing, fun, and invigorating way to spend an afternoon or evening. Make sure you check out her own works too, very cool!

If you're looking for a couple hours of fun on Folly, you should definitely check out Paint with a Buzz! Bri is an amazing instructor and provides you with everything you need to paint! She walks you through step by step until you have a beautiful piece! Even if you feel like you're not very artistic, this is a great event for you! And of course you get to drink while doing it, so what could be better?! A day at Folly wouldn't be complete without Paint with a Buzz!

I signed up to attend Paint with a Buzz on a Friday night with my husband. The open air art studio was the perfect venue and was not intimidating, noisy, or awkward. It's convenient, but not in the middle of the loud nightlife of Folly Beach.

The outdoor art studio space is not cramped and even though the last time I painted anything was in elementary school, I immediately felt comfortable.

Underneath a large, lighted pergola, each participants canvas is ready to go, set up by Bri on an individual easel. The area really creates a seamless atmosphere for Bri - the artist and instructor behind Paint with a Buzz to do her thing and facilitate everyone's creativity and artistic expression to emerge.

If you're interested in the really nitty gritty specifics, the detailed version of the review is below the "get to the point" version.

Get to The Point Review:
1) Vacationing on Folly Beach? ABSOLUTELY, WITHOUT A DOUBT, if you are vacationing on Folly Beach sign up EASILY online for a Paint with a Buzz session. There's no way to go wrong. Two hours. You leave the outdoor studio with a piece of artwork you created and the memory of a great experience.

2) Traveling in the Charleston, South Carolina area? If you are visiting Charleston, South Carolina - sign up for a session. The laid-back and down to earth atmosphere, expertise of instruction, and local vibe of Bri just can't be beat.

I choose supporting a local artist and REAL person over an alternative to that, any day.

Paint with a Buzz is fantastic. It's just a super great experience. Affordable, fun and unique. I had a great time with the other participants that attended the class. I love that I have a tangible ready to hang original piece of art to remind me of the day.

Relax and do your thing with Bri at Paint with a Buzz. If you don't have a "thing" let Bri guide you through each step of the painting. She rocks at teaching. Afterwards, take a surf lesson on Folly with the instructors at Charleston Surf Lessons (the Tides Hotel Parking Lot) and then stop by Taco Boy, the Drop In, or the Lost Dog and eat some good food. Switch up the order of activities if your Paint with a Buzz Session is at night.

Attending an evening session? Paint with a Buzz is a great way to start a surefire relaxing night.

3. Charleston, SC Local: Sign up. There's nothing to lose. You are only are going to gain for all of the reasons listed above. Plus, If you want to interact with the class, you can. If you don't, you aren't pressured to and can just do your thing with the paint and the canvas. Fantastic experience.

Affordable. available, unique, and SUPER FUN.

Bri embodies a true artist and is exemplifies excellence as both an artist and instructor. You just can't go wrong! To look at the attendees of Paint with a Buzz, a person would think that each participant had a history of knowing Bri. She effortlessly makes everyone feel welcome and engaged.

The long detail section of my review:

During the session the group was so relaxed. I read a review that mention Paint with a Buzz being "relaxing" and before attending, did not understand what that would look like. During the Friday class we went to, relaxing and painting at Paint with a Buzz looked like this: If you wanted to interact with other participants, it was an effortless jump between different conversations and laughter was a constant. If a person was enthralled by the art (this was my husband), it was also effortless. I'm not exactly a "social butterfly" and it was just super fun.

Bri offers awesome artistic instruction about the particular painting lesson of the session and personalizes it for every participant. She quickly adjusts the teaching to the particular interest and focus of the person. For example, my husband was SUPER slow at painting the background of our seascape, island, and surfboard piece. During and after Paint with a Buzz, he was totally immersed in the artistic experience. I had a fantastic time with the art, atmosphere and interacting with the other people taking the course.

I was able to see how Bri provided direction and instruction to him about the particular techniques he could use to get the lighting right, the types of paint strokes to try, and the consistency of the paint mixture that would create the result he was looking for. He was one easel down from me.

During Paint with a Buzz, Bri helped me turn the gigantic woolly mammoth of blueish turquoise, into the surfboard I intended it to be. At another point, she helped me deal with an out-of-control proportion issue happening on my canvas involving a palm tree, the sand, the sky and the sun (basically, the entire thing) ONLY because I wanted help and asked her for it- not because Bri has a preconceived expectation on the piece of art Paint with a Buzz participants are going to leave with. Bri does not. She is passionate that each person create whatever their artistic process wants.
