Do not visit this park it belongs to the homeless ppl of Columbia. It stinks so bad in this park and if you do enter and try to enjoy yourself they make you feel like your intruding on their property. STAY AWAY!
Came here with my 2 year old, 4 year old, 8 year old, and 12 year old. The playground is pretty small. My 2 and 4 year old got bored within 5/10 minutes. There’s no benches or anything near the playground for you to sit...More
The Park has an interesting landscape and I enjoyed exploring through it. However, it’s clearly in disrepair. The fountain doesn’t work, resulting in disappointment when I climbed to the top. I noticed a number of chair swings had been cut down (I assume to keep...More
I'm a photographer who happened to be passing through Columbia while driving to North Carolina, and i decided to stop in Finlay park to take some pix. It was bad! The fountains were dry, the place was falling apart, and the only pond with water...More
After reading about the park and seeing pictures, I was very disappointed. The walks and grounds need some serious upkeep. A lot if trash and debris littering the grounds. Most disturbing were the people arguing and swearing at each other. Most unpleasant.
I was so excited to see the huge fountain but it's no longer working. Arrived to see a huge, dry, trash covered brick disappointed. The park it's self is seemed pretty nice, but the entire reason I went was for the waterfall and the fountain.
All I can say is wow! Wow, in a what the hell is going on kind of way! People come here to see the waterfall, all you is see is a whole lot of nothing. Water is turned off, so no water = no water...More

The waterfalls are easily accessible by foot, but I'm afraid it's not much to look at until they turn the water back on, lol. However, my husband and I still like to go- especially for the free summer concerts. We were just there again this past Saturday evening and saw a pretty good reggae band perform. It's also a nice place for picnics and watching the kids play.
