My spouse's group enjoyed a nice morning touring the Mansion and the Gardens in the complex. The most ornate gardens are open to the public anytime and would make a lovely backdrop for pictures. The house itself is full of interesting historic pieces and our tour guide did a great job.

Recently attended a wedding here and was very impressed with everything on the grounds. The gardens are without a doubt breathtaking. These gardens easily rank among the top in the country. The actual event took place in the Lace house. This is a treasure. The rooms are filled with period antiques and artwork on the walls. There is also ample... More

If you are from South Carolina, you should make this a stop. The Mansion is beautiful and the gardens/grounds are very well kept.I loved the "hidden" gardens! The chandlers and silver were stunning! Learned about our former governors as well as our current one,Governor Nikki Haley.Make sure to make a reservation and give yourself plenty of time to check out... More

I walked around the perimeter of the property on an early Sunday morning. The camelias were in bloom and the majestic trees surrounding the property are impressive. You can see a couple of the houses on the grounds. Beautiful black iron fencing too.

I visited this mansion with my children during a Government Day and it was really nice. The tour guide was very sweet and very knowledgeable. She kept all the adults and children interested and had lovely stories to share. The mansion public area is beautiful and very well maintained and the grounds are completely gorgeous. I hope to take any... More

Reservation by email through Nancy Bunch. Directions and parking information was perfect. My guide Dell knew tons of information about the mansion, it's contents and previous occupants. I love the history in South Carolina, and she just made me want to dig even deeper. Joined by a home schooled young man (with his mom and grand mom) that told me... More

I loved my visit to the Governor's Mansion in Columbia. So elegant, great tour directors... get to feel how the first family of SC live.. and how other's have lived there. See beautiful artifacts given by other dignitaries and countries.

Beautiful small tour. Lady conducting the tour (sorry, I forgot her name) was truly passionate for our local history and for the treasures located in the mansion. Overall, worth the stop! Email ahead of time to secure your time.

I liked the beauty of the property. The guard was very friendly and helpful. The only thing I did not like is that Nikki, the governor, is a republican.
