The park is open all day, and is a great place for outdoor activities. Most recently you can spot the familiar stance of Pokémoners catching Magikarp and Psyducks 😊

This was an unexpected find in Columbia on a very hot day. The stroll along the Congaree River was delightful. We watched kayaks and tubers float along and even saw a wedding. Put it on your do-do list!

I had a little over an hour to spend with my granddaughter while waiting for my daughter. I enjoyed pushing the stroller down the paved paths part of which was shaded. There were quite a few benches to rest on most of which had a beautiful view of the water. Lots of people were walking or running on the paths... More

I have visited this park many, many times. In the winter it's usually not very cold, in the fall it's nice and crisp, in the spring you can walk on the paved trail with aromas of honeysuckle and see flowers blooming, and in the summer, along the trail, you can experience the beautiful fuchsia hues of the Crepe Myrtles dripping... Not much to do in Downtown Columbia, BUT it is worth checking out the Canal Park and the River Park/ Dam. Some wildlife and ppl fishing the banks of the Canal.

Maybe you just want to sit in the shade and enjoy the peace and quiet? Then this is the place. It's even pet friendly! Don't worry... More

I love to walk and especially love to walk on a groomed oath or sidewalk with interesting views. The canal and riverfront walkway does a stellar job on both counts. It's my favorite by far in the midlands.

Best start at the end of Canal Walk near Broad River Road-there you can see the beginning of the Canal as well as the "spillway" of the Broad after it has gone under the I-20 Bridge- There is a heavily shaded trail that runs along the Broad River that is a good 25-30 minute walk .If you start from the...
